You can thank the movie Queen of the Damned for ensuring that I’ll never give a **** about any of the other vampire chronicle books besides Interview

I might read it one day - when I forget the movie exists.
This is why I was so mad about that dogshit Dark Tower movie.
Worst adaptation of any book I’ve ever seen.

I recommend you attack Lilith for claiming Queen of the Damned is one of her favourite movies.
I’ve always held that against her
It’s so shallow and fake - tries so hard to be edgy. It’s like Shirley Temple if she one day decides to wear a black dress and put in some black lipstick.

I think QOTD IS ****e in terms of it being a very crappy mish mash of The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned. As Anna said they got some very important stuff wrong most awful was Marius turning Lestat. It is also ****e in terms of haminess and I hate the Jesse character with a passion and yet…
                  There's something about it!

It was only a matter of time, hun. For what it's worth, I never read the book. And yes, yes, I do love this movie for being visually appealing, and of course, the soundtrack is right up my alley.
I am never going to live this down. . .
I'm not really a fan of Anne Rice's writing except for her
                    Claiming of Sleeping Beauty Trilogy
                    series. Nothing vampiric about that.
As far as vampires go, I'd recommend

Of its own, it would be good movie. But as an adaptation from the novel, I agree it's a terrible movie. However, you can't deny they have excellent character's makeup and wardrobe/getups. They looked great, especially Aaliyah as Queen Akasha. I remember she was iconic back then, even after her unfortunate death.
I hope a bear throw a book at you, moon at you, and do a tap dance wearing a thong and leather boots.

That's one of my favourites, I enjoy the more to Lovecraft's "The thing on the doorstep".
Memnoch the Devil is another great Lestat book.

I'm still reading The Vampire Lestat and I'm loving it so far.
When I was a young teenager, I watched the IWTV and I thought he was a whiny dick and a control freak. I remember I saw him as a villain and Louis/Claudia as good guys and I hated Lestat lived and overall hated the movie because "bad guys win". How young and naive I was…..But when I got older and watched the movie again, I understood him better than I was when I was kid and I loved the movie. I was annoyed with Louis and I understand what you mean with the last sentence.
Honestly, I wish he would turn me into vampire.

                                          Yeah - not even close.
There’s definitely some relationships going on in the book, but none of them are romantic.
                                          Fuckin’ toxic if anything.
