Is it true alot of Xena fans don't like Kevin Sorbo?

Kevin Sorbo became jealous of Xena and Lucy becoming as popular as they did. He also resented Rob because he wanted executive producer credits and didn't get it.
Lucy has said that people thought she was gay because of her height and the role she became famous for. Lucy is an extrovert. Just this past week in all her interviews with many kinds of media for Ash vs Evil Dead she is friendly with everybody. Not just because she is promoting the show but that is just the way she is. Renee described Lucy as someone who loves people. She treats everybody like they are friends.
Sorbo thinks that homosexuality is an abomination because that is what his religion teaches. Saying Lucy is gay is just more criticism of her in his mind. And it also is a dig at Rob.
Sorbo also called the Xena fans "that crowd" meaning gay. He didn't say it in way being a compliment either.
Why don't Xena fans like Sorbo. Well, just listen to him and read his Facebook and Twitter accounts. There's your answer. I would think he has lost quite a few of his own fans too. -

To me, pretending to be bisexual would be to say so, but it's not true. She never said this. She never played up a real life relationship with a female as a lover. I do not believe embracing the gay community means she was pretending to be bisexual. I know a lot of people that have embraced the gay community. So they're pretending to be bisexual too? What would be better? That she not embrace them? That she was indifferent toward them?
She said in an interview with Lesbian News in 2003, that "she wasn't sure about Xena's sexual orientation until the last episode. But once Gabrielle had to revive Xena by passing water into her mouth, Lawless says it was clear that these two characters were more than just close friends."
This is why you are hearing her saying this after Xena ended. She was recently at her friend, Tig Notaro's wedding. So the conspiracy is that she went because she is pretending to be bisexual? Maybe Lucy genuinely cares about the gay community and feels that they have been marginalized over the years. Maybe she has gay friends that have not been treated fairly.
George Takei says "I've often said, the most important people in the fight for LGBT equality are our straight allies." But if they act as allies, the conspiracy begins that are pretending to be bisexual. I just don't go along with that line of thinking. -

Lucy the actress has never pretended to be bisexual. She was talking about a fictional character. However, I do think she and the producers of Xena played up the sexuality of the main protagonists in order to keep the gay audience invested. They played with the gay crowd's emotions too often.

and producers play it up? I like specifics please. Is because of subtext in the show? But that is part of the show. Rob tapert and Liz Friedman plan from beginning the subtext. Lucy say they know from beginning, and she and Renee did realize until season two the implications. The time is different then and cannot be open, the studio against gay and lesbians relationships, so they did so a different way to leave ambiguous.

It's interesting how people want to put things on Lucy alone. It was Renee that ad lib the line "she likes what I do" in A Day in the Life.
But seriously neither one of them had a clue until season 2, at which point they had fun with the idea, ala: Renee's ad lib. But were always respectful about it.

True. I saw subtext all throughout season one. I didn't notice at the time it aired, but during re-watches a year or two ago I really noticed it. I guess I was too young to pick up on it the first time around. -

Well pretending to be bi to boost a show - I don't see anything wrong with that tbh. Look at Brandon Flowers from The Killers, he's a Mormon yet likes to pretend to be bi or dubious sexually as pr for his band image. Bruce Campbell is a joy to watch being a jerk or an azz, but I'm pretty sure he plays it up for his Ash fan base. Old Hollywood use to do that a lot more than they do today, it's a smart system and I'm all for it. It's all about escapism and pretending, that's why we love fantasy/fiction.

Are you for real? I'm straight and have worn jackets and ties, pants before. A lot of straight women do. This is so lame. Lucy wears that, so she's pretending? I like reading your posts, but I really thought you were better than that. This goes back to very bad old stereotypes: guy wears a pink shirt, therefore he must be gay. Oh no, they're pretending to be bi. Not really, it's just their fashion eccentricity for the day. What a shame.

You went from she says stuff which means she's pretending, changed your tune when that didn't work, to she dressed a certain way meant that she was pretending. Does she try and break barriers and stereotypes, yes. Is she pretending to be bi, no. That's a misnomer. That implies something completely different.
Again assumptions based on clothes are just very bad stereotypes. What is she when she wears a dress? She's pretending to be straight? There are out in open gay/bi women that dress to the nines. What are they? Pretending to be straight? These clothes views are like from the 80s and beyond. Lucy doesn't even dress like that regularly. I think she only dressed like that one time. Oh I know, you're gonna go looking. It's still pretty rare no matter what you find. I look at it as being eccentric, being in a mood, or to say a person can wear whatever they want, not some scheme to pretend she's bi.
Finally, Lucy doesn't need to pretend to be bi to support the gay community. She's famous and a well know supporter of the gay community. -

Its really sad that we live in a society where its okay to pretend to he something youre not just to make a buck. To be fake and not real. It probably why movies and television and remakes or even reboots suck as a whole. Im sorry but i dont see the point of a new Xena. Cant this era of moviemakers and producer create their own stuff instead of remaking something thats been done. It inspires no creativity or realness.
