Back in 95, RATM wasn't as well known as they are today and few knew what they stood for. Even if Remy was a fan of theirs he probably never paid attention to their lyrics, just their beats. Most likely John Singleton just wanted some angry white boy music like others in the post had said.

It's obvious Singleton has no clue who made up the band Outside Morello who is bi-racial, so is the singer whose father is famed Chicano artist Robert de la Rocha.. Also the drummer Wilks is Jewish.
