DAKOTA FANNING???NOOOOO! She's just a little girl,for Christ's sake!It takes a lot of rough attitude to pull off Tank Girl.She's funny,she's dirty,and she's filthy.Dakota Fanning is a pretty child that plays helpless children,..not a female who has become an outlaw by her Sexual escapades and other things! If you read the comics,you'd see what she is like. Tank Girl can only be played by Lori Petty.I hate remakes,of any kind. It just shows how lazy Hollywood is that they cant think of anything new. There are so many remakes these days that it is really sad. Pleeeeze,..dont remake TG!!

yes, her looks came very close to TG's, but looks are just never enough.
she only needs to open her mouth to prove that she is completely beep at that job anyway.
so, why would anyone hire her for a TG remake. I mean who needs two beep tank girl movies?
Gwen Steffani would be out of the question too. since hiring her would be just the same as getting Petty.
now Fairuza Balk in 95'. THAT would have been perfect. For not only does she look like TG but it's quite clear that she could also pull off the right personality for the role (see The Craft) without looking like a damn puppet. How that Petty b1tch got the role is just beyond me.
The Real TG is a downright mean kunt. I can only think of Fairuza right now, however the sad truth is that she is way too old for the part now. so no. not even her -

I have to admit, I didn't read the comic until after I saw this movie, but you are so right.
In the comics she was all balls-out, beer swigging, punch throwing take no prisoners type of girl.
I think an unknown actress, probably a Kiwi, could play her. She has such a unique look that most celebrities wouldn't be able to capture.

Chole Grace Mortez (Kick-aAs / Carrie etc) might be a good young actress to pull it off although might need a few more years to pull off TG. I could almost see Anna Farris or Allison Flannagan pulling it off but they would have to ditch their Scary (Date) Movie / House Bunny / American Pie / dumb yet cute and innocent personas and put an edge on it. To me Lori Petty would be hard to top. She had the right attitude / crazy / comedic timing etc.
Pretty much everyone else on this list is too old (jenny mccarthy or fairuza balk) or not talented enough (Kristian Stewart really???)
