-a door of a plane can be torn off over 5000 feet and you can sit by the door and not get sucked out by the maasive amount of airpull.
-you can freefall out of a plane, dodge a burning fiery engine and catch a parachute which was thrown out over 20 seconds before you dropped out of the plane.
-an average skydiver stays in the air 20 minutes freefalling without a parachute.
-you can turn a plane around like it is a forklift
-when you fall from 1000's of feet from a plane with a broken parachute just land on your back on an old car leaving a massive dent in the car and you dont die or get severe broken bones or paralysis but you are able share your early childhood skills on some random kids in the junkyard and you also give the child your broken parachute to show that you are a class act kind of guy.
-when you play chicken with a flying plane going 300 mph dont worry when it hits your body you will only do a few flips and you will also be strong enough to untangle yourself from your parachute in just enough time to land on that car in the junkyard.
-you can drive a tow truck through a brick wall and escape through the trap door in the passenger side seat.
-you can dodge lasers, get exploded and get pierced in the leg with a jagged two by four and still have huge amounts of strength to break through a wooden floor.
-24 hours is enough time to recover from a massive nail injury in your hand.
-when you have been waiting for years to kill someone shoot them in the shoulder not in the face or the heart.
-when being zapped by a super charged laser gun you can disappear in some shattered glass

No matter how fast you're falling, as long as your parachute opens an instant before you actually hit the ground, you'll be fine.

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Not true. You can kill yourself landing badly even if all other aspects of your jump are fine. Sport jumpers do die. (So do car drivers.) Any complication in your chute opening lowers your odds of survival.
That said, the parachute assisted air braking to your new terminal velocity happens very rapidly, and parachute assisted jumps CAN (not should) be made in hundreds of feet. There is no room for error.

You are very correct about that because I have heard stories about parachutes not opening at all and the chances of a person surviving is very slim or they care killed instantly from the fall.

*Burglarizing a morgue, forging dental records, murdering several people, and starting a blazing fire in a residential neighborhood are all reasonable when protecting a single mob witness.
*To protect a witness, employ them in a nightclub that receives numerous visitors.
*Desert eagles can't shoot through airplane seats.
*As part of a new identity, burn a necklace that the villains have never seen and would never be able to identify.
*Arnold can drop a noose around a grown man's neck, and lift him about ten feet in less than a second.
Are you a tourist? she says.
I'm not even sure what city this is.

                        1. that's a Level 3 or 4 kevlar vest, it wouldn't stop a round from a Desert Eagle.
                        2. The kid was shot in the upper torso, the vest was in the lover half of his body (the gut area), so even if it would have been able to stop the bullets it would have been at the wrong position to do so.
                        3. Lots of shooting going on inside that plane and a bunch of airplane seats are being used as effective cover.
                          It's like stopping a spear with a speeding-ticketimpossible.
                          Light travels faster than sound,
                          that's why people seem bright,
                          until you hear them.

                                  • An aluminum bolt containing no iron, and therefore should not respond to magnetic forces, can be propelled to nearly the SPEED OF LIGHT (186K miles per frickin' second) by a series of electromagnetic pulses generated by a handheld instrument the size of a reciprocating saw.
                                  • If said bolt, traveling at nearly the speed of light, hits the fleshy part of a human thigh, it will not pass through, but rather come to a complete halt and remain stuck in the thigh, requiring it to be removed manually.
                                  • Who you are is not just a collection of numbers and plastic, but rather is from somewhere near the Izod alligator on your shirt.
                                  • Extra corpses are readily available to WitSec employees.
                                  • Alligators/crocodiles in zoos are fed so rarely that they will be hungry enough to attack and eat random people who mean them no harm.
                                  • Even though the dirty cops have the zoo blocked off, Arnie & Nessa can escape if they can just get out of the reptile house in one piece.
                                  • The King of Bayonne has HUGE BALLS.
                                  • A super-secret corporate room, containing huge secrets and IP info will not have a lock on the door, will not require a code to be keyed in, and will not have a guard posted, but rather will allow anyone who has entered that hallway to enter that room, and download secrets. However, there will be a single camera covering it so any intrusion can be handled after the fact.

                                    Actually, aluminum would be
                                    easier
to use in something like thei - though it's not magnetic, if you impose a fluctuating magnetic field of sufficient flux density on it, the eddy currents induced in it will create a magnetic field that will be violently repelled by the original field.
I agree that the gun shown is a bit small, but the Navy is actually working on rail gun designs. They may not get near light speed, but they will work.
The actual mass required to be quite devastating would be quite small, assuming you could reach that sort of velocities, since relativistic effects would kick in.

-Energy sufficient to propel a bolt to near the speed of light can be contained in a battery small enough to be carried on a belt.
-It makes sense to use that energy in a complicaed way instead of just tossing the battery at the enemy and shorting it out.

The action bends reality. What else is new? If we wanted completely realistic action, The Matrix would have failed and The Sentinal would have been a huge hit.
