Honestly I like all of them but
- Arts n Crass
- Pierce me
- Quinn the Brain
Those 3 are classics no doubt, picking a 4 and 5 were harder. Notice the top 3 were all from season 2. - See Jane Run
- Road Warrior
Honorable mentions: Lane Miserables, Daria!, It Happened One Nut. and Fat Like Me.
Worst: Depth Takes a Holiday, Too Cute, and Antisocial Climbers

- Misery Chick - Mainly coming from some personal experience. I was sort of the school's "misery chick", and I'm sure if I was attending school in my senior year when we lost two students that I would have been in Daria's shoes; being unpopular but being asked how I deal with being "miserable" and "gloomy".
- Write Where It Hurts - Reasons you said.
- Arts n' Crass - I love that we do see Helen get involved with something in Daria's life instead of having someone else do it, and the conversation between her and Ms. Li was perfection.
- Daria! - It was just an all-around fun episode that was a way for the show to cut loose. This and I'm a sucker for musical themed episodes of shows.
- Boxing Daria - For a way to close the show, it was dark and an interesting way to see into Daria's head (as you said). And I've never seen a more relatable episode of the show until then and it was nice to see a somewhat serious episode of the show.
"I'll go,because I am Cinema!" - Ben (Man Bites Dog)

- Boxing Daria
- Write Where It Hurts
- Dye! Dye! My Darling (a controversial choice I'm sure, but it was the episode that got me hooked)
- Fire
- Through A Lens Darkly
To me, Boxing Daria is not just the best episode of the series, it's one of the best episodes of any show, animated or live-action. As someone who is mildly autistic, it felt very close to home, especially the scene with Daria as a child and the inkblot tests. That feeling of being misunderstood is something I think we all go through at some point in our lives, but for people with autism or other disabilities, I think it rings especially true. It was a great moment in TV, especially for animation, as it showed a depth that you don't often see in the genre (except maybe Pixar movies).

In no particular order
Arts N Crass - This is one I remember so well from back in the day.
See Jane Run - Another one that always sticks out to me.
Pierce Me - So freaking cute! Trent lays it on so thick and Daria is so cute blushing. At the piercing parlor Trent hold out his hand (Daria: What's that? Trent: That's my hand, Daria. Gimme yours") LOL!
Ill - Daria's rash and I like how everybody shows up at the hospital to see her. I think she had more friends than she realized.
Fat Like Me - Quinn sticking by Sandi.
Also, really like Speedtrapped and Legends of the Mall. -

Not in any particular order, my favorite five episodes are:
1.) " Quinn the Brain"- I like this episode because I think it was humorous how Quinn was getting praised for this terrible poem she wrote. Although it is shallow, my favorite part was the ending where we got to see Daria without the glasses and baggy clothes; to me, it showed that Daria was attractive, and if she put in a bit of effort, could probably be just as pretty as Quinn. As a viewer, I was very interested to see what Daria would look like without the atrocious glasses and horrendous clothing.
2.) " Boxing Daria"- This is probably my favorite episode. I loved learning a bit about Daria's childhood, and understanding why she was the way she was. I really sympathized with Daria in that episode; she was just so alone. No one understood or accepted her. Finally, I enjoyed watching Daria grow as a person, and realize that she was a difficult child to raise, and her parents deserve her gratitude for always standing by her. In the end, Daria realized that, although her mother and father had many flaws, they were good parents who truly loved her, and tried their best to understand and accept who she was, no matter how hard that was at times.
3.) " Ill"- Why this episode is one of my favorites, I have no idea, but it is.
4.) " Dye! Dye! My Darling"- I know many people disliked this episode because of what Daria did to Jane, but I enjoyed it. This episode showed that Daria was human and makes stupid mistakes just like everyone else, no matter how intelligent or dumb. I like how we got to see Daria as a semi regular teenage girl who liked a guy, and because of that, let her hormones get the best of her. I know I am in the minority here, but I really liked Tom. I thought they made a good couple, and had quite a bit in common; I wish they stayed together, no matter how unrealistic that would have been. I felt Tom was good for Daria; he helped Daria loosen up a bit, and the relationship gave Daria the experience
she needed to grow as a person. It was interesting to see Daria have a boyfriend because it was so different for her, and it forced her out of her comfort zone. Also, I felt Tom understood genuinely liked, and understood Daria.
5.) " Jake of Hearts"- I like this episode because Jake's mother is introduced, and we learn a bit about Jake's unstable childhood. When he had his heart attack, it was nice to see the family's reaction; it showed how much they love Jake. In many of the episodes, his feelings and concerns are ignored, and sometimes Jake is just treated badly by his family, mainly Helen. -

I really like Helen and Jake. They try to be good parents. They are flawed but loving and supportive in their ways. They look even better when you compare them to Jane's absentee parents and Jodi's who are so driven they never think of Jodi as an individual or consider her feelings.

"Ill - Daria's rash and I like how everybody shows up at the hospital to see her. I think she had more friends than she realized."
Bingo. That's what I loved about it. Even though Kevin and Brittany are people many can only deal with in small doses, and of course they said some rude things to Daria (without understanding why what they said was rude), I always thought they, in their own way, actually liked Daria and always seemed happy to see her and Janeagain in their own way. There were some moments I actually felt bad for Kevin and Brittany just because Daria and Jane said some really mean things to them, but of course it sort of went over their head. Sometimes it resulted in harm (like when Kevin bought that motorcycle jacket and Brittany and Kevin were excited to show it off to Jane and Daria only to have them make fun of him and goad Kevin into buying a motorcycle (motorbike) that he had no business in riding). I appreciated that Brittany tried to keep Daria's rash a secret and enjoyed having to share a secret with Dariaas much as she could keep it to herself.
