    After NBC dropped it following Frasier it's audience shrunk 50% and quickly cancelled.
    Where was that audience to begin with then?
    Did everyone fall asleep after Frasier?
    How did (and still) compile their numbers and remain relevant?

          I don't think it was ever a major hit in the Nielsens. It never cracked the top 10. The highest it reached was #12. And only two other seasons scored in the top 20.
          It probably kept getting renewed because someone at NBC loved the show and once they felt it had run its course, they moved it to a slot where it finally tanked.
          The introduction of Vicki at the beginning of season 7 feels like a jump the shark moment. And they eventually realized she wasn't working and axed her in the middle of the last season. At least the show ended on a good note with one of the better finales.
