In 1839, president Van Buren is on the campaign trail for the 1840 election. Which is ridiculous for 2 reasons

    1. Presidents didn't campaign in person the way they do today back then
    2. Unlike today campaigns didn't last an entire year.
That was the first of many historical inaccuracies.

Why work when, you can vote Democrat instead.

      It's a good thing:

      1. This wasn't a documentary
      2. This wasn't about how campaigns worked in 1839
      3. They didn't interrupt the plot and spend valuable screen time to explain it since it wasn't important to what the movie is actually about.

And so breathtaking in its relevance! What a scholar! Go to the head of the class.
