    When I was a kid I thought Ed was being surprisingly deep in that comment. I thought he meant his dad was dead, and when he came up to his 'secret place' and looked up at the sky, it was like he was looking up and seeing his dad in Heaven.

        Hmm, novastar_6 I never even thought about that before. I thought Ed was being silly and saying he sees him everyday, but he's too dumb to remember what he looks like.

          Yeah that finally occurred to me about the second to last time I saw it a year ago, but for so many years I thought that once again Ed was being momentarily deep and somber about something.

            I used to think the same thing when I was a young 'un. Now? I can't help but laugh at Ed's unintentionally funny line (Dexter's reaction to it is priceless).

              I remember people in the theaters laughing at the scene and I guess they had got the joke. You could take it either way that he is serious like you said he sees his father in a spiritual way and the dumb way that he actually is able to see his father everyday.
