It is not the issue of being horny. It depends how to accept the movie. If you feel each and every scene then listen what your heart says.
There are many thing like LO may be under pressure, LO's desire or lust for LOVE.
So, it is just how you take this movie. (Adult/ Classic/ Masterpiece). -

Although Humbert was essentially wrong (I am not denying that), Lo had already slept with that boy from summer camp. She was sexually active. But that still doesn't justify Humbert's actions and his control over her. As an adult he should have restrained himself.

Yes, but I thought Dominique Swain was 17 at the time, I was wondering why on earth the movie was considered controversial (teenage sexuality is not inherently controversial to me, it is only in recent history that an adult having consensual sex with a 14yr old is considered "wrong" or retardedly referred to as "paedophilia" fyi it is not even "hebephilia", "philia" implies preference), however I then found out she was 15yrs old at the time and completely understood why it would be considered somewhat controversial, I then proceeded to watch the movie again with my pants downlol just kidding.

Clearly, Lolita is stunning in this movie. Physically, she's a long limbed nubile and proportioned specimen. The scenes where she plays the innocent siren are definitely meant to cause arousal. Having said that, I should also add that this movie is rated 18+, i think, not just because of the sex, but also because you need to be more mature to interpret it's intent. If a child watches this, its about 2 people riding a car for a while and the kissing and the sex depicted is nothing but softcore porn. To an adult, the slight touch and the hidden glances are what tells the story of Humbert's angst. If one cannot empathize with Irons during those scenes, I believe the movie and it's intentions are lost.
I'm sure there are as many women who swooned over an older, handsome Irons, in his role as an easily flustered tortured soul, obsessing over a girl; as there were men who just thought this was supposed to be some old playboy porno. -

I actually think the author doesnt really know how a paedophile thinks. He is describing how a paedophile tHinks from the reasoning of a healthy non deviant mind.
Similar to how guys tell their daughters and gfs to not dress too revealing when they go out in public they dont know how rapists think, but they can only guess based on what normal guys are attracted to. -

It has also been long rumored, but never verified that Nabokov was sexually molested by his uncle when he was an adolescent boy. If this is true then he could, indeed, have had personal insight into how a predator thinks and acts.

Well 14 year olds are adults as they have sexually matured, adulthood begins at puberty and in many countries it is legal to have sex at 14 and younger.
