The "Mr. Clean" Commercials

Nothing wrong with having a 'sexy man' selling cleaning products in the commercial - as a gay male, I'm all for it! Just like the sexy Fireman who shows up and puts out 'heartburn' in another commercial. I think it's funny and great - and sells the product, which it is supposed to do. However,
that
is not the issue or the point of my 'absurd comment'.
How many of those T&A commercials (from chicken wings to cars) you refer to have the sexy woman turning into an over-weight, sloppy, unattractive woman once the 'fantasy' is over?
How many times in the past 35-40 years has a male talk show host said to his colleagues on TV: "There's nothing sexier than coming home and finding my wife cooking dinner and cleaning the house for me. Give her a bottle of Windex and have her clean the windows - and I'm telling you, she's never been sexier" ?
I honestly think your comprehension skills are on the level of James Avalon.

That would be your issue, not mine. You're both myopic and unwilling to see someone else's point.

If you can't understand why that was said given the traditional roles for men and women in relationships, you probably shouldn't be speaking or writing on the subject.

That "super model" fantasy has been used in countless commercials. Not sure the husband was unattractive. IMO, he looked average. So, maybe, that's your issue and not a real problem in the commercial.
Your complaint is still absurd. -

It's a clear observation - no one's issue.

We have come a very long way in the past 40 years in topics like this of degrading either sex, and for them to say something this degrading to men is uncalled for. I - and many others on this forum - understood very clearly. It obviously went way over your head.

Wow, you missed the whole point of the commercial if that's how you honestly understood it.
Your complaint is still absurd.
And I believe your comprehension skills are still severely lacking.

You clearly missed the point of the commercial. It had nothing with her husband being "overweight, sloppy, or unattractive." So, maybe, you should check your comprehension level.
Updated to add:

A few people agreeing with you doesn't mean you are right. It just means a few agree with your POV.
We haven't come that far in 40 years when you still have people making statements like "women should dress like women" and "men should work outside of the home." -

Not taking sides here, but I agree with above. I think the simple message was husbands doing household chores makes them sexier.
I personally did not see it as sexist or objectifying, but I understand why it may be viewed that way.

My comprehension is fine, thank you.
So the question - once again - is: Would the women find the commercial all that funny if it was a sexy woman who turned into a fat, sloppy, unattractive 'wife' in front of a man?
Would the women agree if a man said (on TV) 'There's nothing sexier than coming home and seeing my wife cook dinner and clean the house for me. It's sexy when I see her with a bottle of Windex cleaning the windows' ?

Yet, we have come much further than we were. We're certainly not there 100%, but we're quite further along than where we were.
A few people agreeing with you doesn't mean you are right. It just means a few agree with your POV.
And? A few people disagreeing with me doesn't mean I'm wrong. It just means a few disagree with my POV.

You're so FOL, it's pathetic, Putrid. You spent every waking moment on the original site trashing women's looks and bodies, calling them all kinds of names and basically gossiping about them like a bitchy coven of tweens. Then you see an innocuous commercial where a woman isn't half naked and want to take to the streets in protest. You don't genuinely give two s****s about the "double standard". You're just bitchy and angry because you wish you were a woman and you're not even human. You're such an imbecile and so are the folks who know what you are and still kiss your sorry ass anyway.

It's a double standard for sure but the sexy Mr. Clean guy doesn't bother me nearly as much as all of the other commercials these days that depict men as a bunch of wimpy totally retarded idiots. I don't know about you but I don't know too many men that act the way these commercials are portraying them?
This is just a bunch of hateful liberal feminist supporters who are pushing these negative images of men on the mass public through their liberal owned TV networks. Same thing with all of the main stream liberal owned news networks. -

Any particular examples?
