How come every movie that has a component of LA police corruption, ends up with the corrupt cops getting an award or commendation, posthumously or otherwise?
Training Day
Crash
LA Confidential
Others I am certain, those quickly pop to mind.
Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it? -

There are also many other movies where they don't.
The thing is, having L.A. police in a movie or in a TV show is very convenient, since they shoot in LA Thus most movies/tv shows have their police in LA, so on average when that situation occurs, it's likely to be the LA police! -

The other David Ayer films are solid (especially Street Kings, SWAT & Sabotage).
For other movies and shows, obviously you can find the Michael Mann earlier films/shows rather entertaining but The Shield, The Closer and Bosch all deal with similar material too.
