He is awesome and I watched the movie over and over again, too. I have been around people in New York, who speak the same way. He was so convincing as this character.

Actually the scene where Jeffrey takes a very public dump, is the most memorable part of this film. Did he really take a dump in front of the crew?

You are absolutely on the money on this one, Jeffrey Wright walks away with every scene in this movie.case and point, his character caused major conflict with Samuel L. Jackson on the set while filming. To give it to you straight, Jeffrey Wright IS the reason the watch Shaft, and not so much Samuel L. Jackson.
And the hits just keep on coming

I heard he was brought in at the last minute to replace another actor. Does anyone know who? Also, TLDavis1230, did you mean the actor caused major conflict with Sam Jackson or his character? If you mean Wright and Jackson didn't get along, can you give us an example?

Are you joking? after seeing him in this film i felt sorry - he was awful. no offence to him because i thought he performed well in Ali but this is terrible - but then again so was everyone else - perhaps it was just the film that made him awful
