Jeffrey Wright is terrible.

Same here. I can understand the preview audience's enthusiasm for him as a villain, where he seems to be playing against type to a certain extent. In many of the roles I've seen him in, he's far more restrained, less physical and more studious. In Shaft he was pure menace.

I thought Wright's performance was one of the worst I've seen in a mainstream film. He should be ashamed of himself.
i watch this movie SPECIFICALLY to see People's Hernandez. excellent.

Just watched it, and as I remembered after watching for the first time some 14 years ago, Jeffrey Wright makes the film. The rest is meh, but Wright steals the show. Wish we could have seen Wright play more outlandish roles. Great acting.
