    However you do still have people who refer to someone having sex with people for money (Basicly prostitution!) as "Turning Tricks!"

      "Trick" & "john" are still used in prostitution circles I believe. Although it's not something I'm that familiar with.

            I think there's also a slight double meaning in the movie title. Of course, trick mainly refers to a one-night stand/pick up. But I also think it refers to a "trick of fate" in how the 2 guys meet, then actually become closer because they can't find a place to hook up.

                This discussion made we want to see "Trick" again, which I did the other day. It turns out I'm not such an interesting commentator and observermaybe just a guy with a quirky memory: during the closing credits a song called "Trick of Fate" played!

                    A trick is, primarily, the client of a prostitute.
                    It was supposedly used by gay men for a person one has picked up for the purposes of casual sex.
                    I have never called my casual partners that, nor do my friends. I suspect it is an obsolete usage. Jim Fall, the director of this film, is like 50 years old.
