Lame line

That one was cheesy, but it was cheesy purposely and in a good way.
The lame guy is finally doing something 'cool' and he hams it up with the whole, "I'm Mr. Careful," cue the audience laughing at his dorkiness. -

Those lines were pretty lame but it's definitely not the lamest line I have ever heard in a movie. Most Lifetime movies have a lot of lame lines.
The most lame line I have heard my boyfriend can't even listen to it because it literally hurts his brain. It's from Heartbeat, "I now pronounce you man, wife, and family" (they had a baby and then got married). -

I think that line was kind of a nod to his character in 'Friends'. Chandler was always saying stuff like that, though not quite as seriously. My favorite was when he was trying to break up with Janice and he ended up hitting her by accident. He shouts to Phoeby 'This is the worst breakup in the history of the world!!'. Funny stuff. Just his tendancy to exagerate the importance of things.

Nah you're missing the point. He's meant to sound geeky and clumsy, as he is THE ENTIRE MOVIE. "In the history of the world" is clearly one of his over-exaggerated, weird phrases.
And it would make sense he could only conjure something cheesy but genuine feeling this much enthusiasm in the moment. -

You're right! I forgot about that. Must be lacunar amnesia.
