I liked it as well. Although I really love Joshua and Paul so my opinion is probably biased towards liking it no matter how bad the movie might be. (Although I don't think it is bad in any waymaybe just conventional.)

it was the first movie, i wanted to leave the cinema while playing. it was so boring and there was no relation between the viewer and the actors. i did not care what happend to them and the whole time i was thinking about what to do after the movie ..and that
s always a baaad sign. there is nothing remarkable or quotable about it. i saw it in 2000 i guess and some weeks later i couldnt even tell what it was about.. and today i only remember that it was one of the 3 most money- and timewasting films i saw in a movie theatre, along with fast and furious and the replacement killers..
would stare at a wallpaper for 90 minutes instead of watching again

I agree, OP. I like this film a lot. Yes its a bit of a male soap opera, but the actors do rather well, the suspense stays steady, and it has twists & turns.
Good soundtrack also.
What's odd is that while this good film is generally panned, the truly poorly-acted boring fluff

It got bad reviews in an effort to down play just how true to life it was. The less people see this film, the less likely they will believe that $hit like this actually happens in real life. This movie, though not an Academy Award Best Picture nominee, was very entertaining and much of it told a story that the powers-that-be be don't want the average person knowing about.
