I thought so based on the mother/daughter relationship as well as the passion for the arts
Academy Awards = the Creme de la Creme of Bull Sh*t

Well, if anything the other way round 😉
If you google for it you will find many movie critics drawing parallels. But to be honest, this general theme, the sacrifices people make for art, how perfectionism destroys their personality and the family that creates the environment where such is thing is possible is something that has came across me in a couple of movies since.
I will now end this debate with you.

        1000%
Even down to how Isabelle Huppert studied for a year with piano teachers prior to filming, while Natalie Portman studied intensively for a year before filming.

I thought of it too. Both movies deal with domineering mothers and mentally disturbed daughters but Black Swan is way much better film.

Maybe a little bit cuz of the mother daughter relationship and her harming herself at the end
