Arthur and Ian comparison

The Ian thing was just to tickle the minds of those who remember Arthur and his breakdown Bobby. I was a bit cheap and my friend who loves Enders didn't like it
That all said it was a great Boxing day, far too much food and booze though and it went on for too long. I'm still in the recovery stage today
I have been catching up with all the Doctor Who videos and it seems like many people did not like it
I thought it was a pretty good episode and really let Shooty shine. The Joy and Anita balance within the story was off but overall I think it still came across as a fun episode. Your Council of Geeks person just shared their thoughts and I think they mostly liked it.
How was your Christmas and Boxing day festivities Bobby and did you enjoy your viewings of the shows?

I didn’t like it either. In fact they ripped off…sorry ‘homaged’ a few Enders classic moments in this years special. I’m not impressed and have started a thread on it on this very board.
I need to watch the Doctor Who episode again, it just seemed to fly by right past me for some reason. I need to watch Council of Geeks review at some point and of course I’d like to know what Tharries thought.
I’m glad you had a good time on Boxing Day. My Christmas viewing has been a smash this year! I’ve watched the entirety of Gavin and Stacey for the first time, including the finale. It’s a nice little show and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It seems a little overblown with people constantly banging on about it.
OH and I watched Wallace & Gromit which was superb!
Also Benny came back today. He seems to be over his illness but now has something called ‘crush syndrome’ in his foot which has turned his foot dumb he says. That poor lad always seems to be in the wars.

All of Gavin and Stacey Bobby??!?
That's like 12 hours or more's worth of viewing
It must have been good for you to put all that effort in
Enders thread will get a reading from me shortly. I can imagine that lots of stuff is going on in the background with the change of showrunner and stuff and so lots of people being irked in one way or another du to it all.
Council of Geeks does a good take on the recent episode of Doctor Who Bobby, Tharries not so much so
But there are lots of reviews out there and people have started making lengthy videos on it and so there's hope for the future of the fandom. An angry fandom is better than none at all
Benny has a crushed foot now does he? I wonder who he got to diagnose that during Christmas? I'm sure he'll get over this one too. He should have gone shopping with you in Manchester and got a bit of exercise
Right, I'm off to read your thread on the Enders situation

Yes all of it but it was over a two week period.
it’s not a bad little show…bit naff on paper but it works. I don’t understand people banging on and on and on all Christmas about it though, it’s not THAT good.
Well didn’t you tell me that Tharries is currently suffering from Doctor Who fatigue? No wonder his review wasn’t very good if so.
Yes Benny has Crush Syndrome on his foot now. He was busy playing silly beggars and got too drunk and crushed it. He’s been playing silly beggars all bloody month! I was providing him with lots of fun alternate ideas too including a hot date with some Christmas lights and mulled wine!!

Tharries doesn't hate it. I think he's just trying to digest it and while being 21 years old (Or is it 23) makes him a man. Things like the covid rules will still be a fairly fresh situation and how he understands it might not be the same as someone with another couple of years on him
I'm glad you can now say that you've seen Gavin and Stacey Bobby, I can't and so you've got some more experience on the matter than I
Benny will be fine. He might even get to get a sick line and be able to live without working for a while

Well I’ve just listened to Tharries whilst doing other things (using my new wireless headphones) and he didn’t say anything about the COVID stuff other than he liked it.
His other videos are all about things like what Doctor Who apparently ‘beat’ in the ratings, bless him.

You'd need your headphones for his review of Joy to the World because he's in a hallway and using his phone's mic for pick-up (It was really low volume).
Tharries seems to have picked up his idea of how Who will go Bobby

I think Doctor Who was the first proper piece of fictional entertainment to mention covid and all the troubles it caused so many Bobby.
Add Christmas and a sacrifice to it and it ruffles feathers so far unruffled and it might make a few people upset.
But it had to be done at some point and I think Doctor Who went about it rather daintily but with resolve
For some people though it was too much and too soon

Well I don’t think it was soon ENOUGH!!! You should have seen Sally Ann before COVID…I mean she was hardly a social butterfly I grant you but she would come out a little bit more than she does now. She used to walk around outside normally too…these days she just scurries.

I think everyone having to be tight lipped about it for fear of being thrown out of work or social media really battered folk up quite badly Bobby
Add to that the people who died alone in hospital (Which you don't have to go to far to find within your social groups) and the poor Queen alone at Philips funeral and the message is quite a dark one which hasn't been resolved yet for many people.
And then you have the Downing Street parties and affairs with a whole bunch of rule breakers and all of a sudden it takes on a serious and angry tone.
I'm sure Sally will recover her former self to some agree and be back to her usual more friendly self but until everyone as recovered it will take a bit of time for those exploring those areas before to have everyone else want to do so too.
I think Joy to the World helped address a little aspect of that and it was much needed

Having to isolate on her own almost destroyed poor Sally. She has underlying health conditions due to a weakened immune system so it was the full jobber for her! I would get her items from the supermarket though (knocking on the door and leaving them on her doorstep as I waved from the gate) and often speak to her on Zoom.

That does sound quite harsh for poor Sally Bobby
But is all seems to be over for now and so hopefully she won't have to go through anything like that again
And you both got to practice with Zoom and so that's a new skill

I’ve come to loathe Zoom and everything which covid brought us and I’ll tell you why…it suddenly made people realise they’re unsociable after all and prefer it that way. We are all less friendly with each other as a result OH and they stopped having little bowls of Bombay mix in the little areas in I dian restaurants where you wait for your table or takeaway to be ready. That never came back after covid.

Well I was on the road for a very long time Bobby and so the sociable aspect thing had already been altered for me in ways difficult to describe to people who form long-standing interpersonal relationships with people they see often
But I can imagine if you are used to seeing the same people often then not being able to it would suck.
As for the Bombay mix, you should make your own. You an get the ratios more to your own liking and flavour it up or down to suit your personal tastes too Bobby

Yes but you can’t take your home made Bombay mix into Indian restaurants and munch on it in the little area where you wait to be shown to your table.

I would Bobby
And if they had a complaint about it I'd say I didn't use to have to and they are welcome to supply them again if they want my custom like before

That’s a great idea!
I have an easier way of making them too!
Get some Corn Flakes and some Rice Krispies and mix them all up together with some curry powder!

There's a shop near me that sells the individual components and so I can get the nuts, garlic noodles and little pretzel bits and mix them up as I see fit Bobby
It's pretty nice. I also use the Cajun spice mix from Sainsbury's to give it an additional layer of flavour

That sounds wonderful! But you can get big bags in Tesco ready mixed and they have all different kinds…balti mix, cornflake mix, London mix…
