Hitler and the Nazis were Socialists, wanted to nationalize everything from schools, healthcare, business, supported abortion, wanted gun control, hated Jews, opposed free speech and supported censorship, believed white people were the superior race and everyone else is inferior.
So yeah, as a whole the Nazis aligned very closely with today's Democrat party.

They neither wanted to, nor attempted to nationalize anything the way socialists and social democrats do.
You might as well say Saddam Hussain was a socialist as Iraq had free healthcare under his rule.
