Aye. I loved the way they seemed to gradually make us- as viewers- despise Vic (and, bizarrely, have sympathy for Shane)

And to think e-online has The Shield finale classified as a bad finale!! Ridiculous!!

It is the best ending I have ever seen. It was so true to who Vic is and how the strike team paid the ultimate price.
I think close second is the finale for The Wire.
Bringing up the rest are;
Breaking Bad
Justified

I can only join the choir here and I am no biiiig fan of the Shield. It's 7/10 show tops in my book but it might have the strongest finale ever, last 3-4 episodes or so.
The problem with the Shield is all the unneccessary sideplots that make it too much of a generic gritty police show.
The finale in BB is good enough compared to the ovarall quality of the show. Justified had a pretty good ending too and particularly an exceptionally strong final season.
"if seagal was thinner this could have been a theatrical product."

Dexter's ending SUCKED. 3/10
House's ending was okay, imo. 7/10
SFU's ending was very powerful and endlessly rewatchable. 9/10
The Shield's final 10 minutes, while low key, was still mind-blowing. A masterpiece of restraint. 9.5/10 -

Six Feet Under
LOST
Sons of Anarchy
Justified
Banshee
Fringe (Not many people that watch these type of shows watch a lot of science fiction/drama shows, so you probably wouldn't get past the first few episodes) -

The ending of Sons of Anarchy sucked ass.
I agree.
The crescendo of that show for me
was when they killed Clay.
That whole scene pretty much wrapped everything up. It was never on the level of the Shield; however, I enjoyed the show up to that point.
