is that Daphne got into Oxford! How ridiculous. Not in a million years.

What makes it unbelievable? She never mentioned her grades, or S.A.T. scores? When she gets home she is filling out college applications, so obviously she cared some about school. Just because she was a free spirit, doesn't mean she didn't get good grades.

I didn't think he did one day she shows up on his doorstep and she's staying over that very night Glyniss questioned it and all he said was that she was his all cause she had his pic and claimed she had his eyes.

Are you forgetting who her father is? He most definitely could have pulled some strings. We don't find out her grades or GPA and she'd have to be able to keep up once she got in, but it's far from unbelievable.

Weeeellll we don't know anything about her academics we also don't know that she didn't get into NYU. She says she didn't end up there, not that she didn't get in. Very different statement. The point was probably that she chose to start the new phase of her life in London, with her father and his family and her boyfriend. But that aside, is not impossible to get into one and not the other. Hell, I got into Stanford but not UC Riverside, and I didnt even have an alumni connection or a prominent public figure for a father like Daphne.

That's far from unbelievable. She probably applied as The Lady Daphne Dashwood, daughter of the Earl of Wycombe and not Daphne Reynolds of China Town, New York. Based on the paintings Henry shows to Daphne, the family title is old. I'm sure plenty of Dashwoods went to Oxford or other prestigious universities. Getting in wouldn't be difficult.
