No love for Stars Of The Lid? "The Tired Sounds Of" & "And Their Refinement Of The Decline" are completely enrapturing. Also Mono, especially their collaboration with World's End Girlfriend "Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain". If you get the chance see their tour doc "And The Sky Remains The Same As Ever", that band is the best live experience I've had.
"As I turned the corner, I felt muscular and compact - like corned beef."

Chance Encounters In the Garden Of Lights , Simplex , Pavilions of the Heart and Soul, Chamber of Dreams , Summer of Gods Piano
Any one of the many, albums he has out not sure exactly how many but it is a lot more than one shelf on my wall

the 'ether' is captured in more ways than one here. -

I liked the movie but I didn't buy into the whole 'ether' stuff. To me it sounded like bs that was meant to appeal to those who like to make a big fuss about what they think is art. I think that it can say something about the characters in the film but to take it out of the film is just to pose in those characters shoes. So I don't think any music comes from the ether.
