1.DVD Copy
2.illegal download
3.On television
Everyone knows that this Ju-on film and its sequel are extremely rare and official copies were never released on dvd. BUT there are other ways to see this. eBay usually has bootleg copies to purchase which is ok since its eBay. Now there are some who will download the film(not against it; do it all the time). Of course its illegal but what if you really wanted to see it and there are no alternatives? Downloading should be legal only if you don't make copies and distribute them to others for money or something like that. Last one isn't likely. I don't even think the tv-versions were even shown on tv in the U.S.
Gonna be honest. Mine was number 2 -

I live in Japan, so I just went down to the local video shop and bought them on DVD

I watched it in college legally one of my friends at the time ordered it offline and we watched it in his dormroom. (we lived on the same floor) needless to say I was afraid to take a shower after watching it! the movie scared us silly.

Saw the amercian remake first at the movies, rented Juon2 on DVD, then purchased the original Juon and Juon 2 on DVD. Yeah I saw them in all the wrong order! still kicks ass though. Juon 2 is the clear winner to btw.
