Redford is looking more and more like Anne Robinson nowadays

Wow Clint Eastwood as a grumpy old cowboy? That'd be something we've never seen before. how original and exciting lol.

Yeesh There's inept and then there's tusbatz. And I'm not even talking about his/her(its?) grasp of movies. I'm talking about its grasp of life in general. Just existing appears to be too much for it to handle. Maybe Clint should be warned he has a stalker

And btw, you're incorrect about Redford in this movie.

You're entitled to your opinion. The rest of us believed. Clint probably could have done it, however, I'm not so sure Clint could have shown the change of the character over time. From being a bitter old, grizzled curmudgeon to someone who forgives and warms up to the fact that family is family. And forgiveness isn't so scary.
I'm not sure we were watching the same movie

                  A. You shouldn't criticize someone you can't even spell the name of. (makes you look dumb)
                  B. It's complete blasphemy to say that Robert Redford is ever a "weak link." (his phenomenal career/reputation proves it)
                  C. It's ludicrous to think RR couldn't anyone's ass. (kinda wish he'd kick yours to prove it)
🙂 P.S. I agree with all the other comments disagreeing with this ridiculous thread.

^^This. Redford was great in here. I loved him & Freeman in this movie, they really seemed like best friends. I love Eastwood but I agree with one of the above posters, this would've been typecasting.

                      A. I have a problem with people picking on other people's spelling (especially when the critic himself has difficulty with sentence structure). We are all different, and some individuals find spelling difficult or even impossible for a variety of reasons. (I knew an otherwise excellent and prolific graduate school professor whose spelling was appalling). That doesn't mean they aren't allowed an opinion. The OP could have cleaned up his manner a bit, but that's a different issue.
                      B. Although I liked Robert Redford in this and most of his other movies, I've certainly seen him as a weak link in some. For example, in "The Horse Whisperer" I thought he came off too creepy when relating to the young girl. He's a great actor and director, but he's not above an occasional slip.

Redford was great in this and took lessons from Sean Connery in meting out old man beatings!
                        Its that man again!!

I liked Redford in this, and I still him as an actor.

So let me get this straight - it wasn't 'Reddfoerd's acting but rather your limited imagination to stopped you being able to believe Redford could 'kick the crap outta sumbuddy' - let me guess - because Redford is Democrat and Clint's a Republican. I've read some moronic posts on IMDb but this has to be one of the dumbest - which I realise to Republicans won't be seen as a negative thing because you all see dumb as a badge of honour.
