great films you never want to watch again

Yeah, I loved Mysterious Skin, but I don't want to watch it again. For some reason, I couldn't watch The Lovely Bones again. I have had Irreversible sitting next to my bed for months but I can't bring myself to watch it.
You know what the best thing is? I'm not hooked.. I could stop at any time. -

Really? Trainspotting is on my list of movies I will watch over and over again. The amount of times I've seen it is already in the teens. I just love it so much, and want to share it with everybody.
I think it's just a very dark comedy. There is happiness in it, even with all the terrible things.
Requiem for a Dream on the other hand, I completely agree. That movie is soul suckingly depressing. I made the mistake of watching it again with friends, not remembering how incredibly devoid of any semblance of happiness it was. That was such a mistake, and I think I was more affected then any one else. It's just such a incredibly depressing movie. Nothing good happens, and at the end of it all, everyone is just beep
I don't know if I'm in agreement about Mysterious Skin, because I did just re-watch it. But that was the first time I had re-watched it in years, so I'm going to go with the fact that it sort of affected me enough not to want to see it for awhile.
For me, Pan's Labyrinth is a movie to go on the list. It was beautifully done, but I was just so disturbed and horrified that I don't think I can ever watch it again. -

Irreversible I could never watch again, same with Antichrist.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Sophie's Choice. I watched it about 15 years ago, and have never watched it since. I just can't bring myself to do it.

I will not watch 'Irreversible' or 'Salo: The 120 Days of Sodom' again. I thought both films were well-made, and I actually recommend Irreversible to my friends with edgier cinematic tastes. 'Salo,' however, maintains such an air of discomfort, tension, and general unpleasantness that I really can't recommend it to anyone. But if you've heard of it and are curious, by all means dive in. Just make sure you get the double-disc Criterion editionthe second disc is very illuminating.
When I first saw 'Precious' it bothered me so greatly I couldn't sleep the night I saw it and was sure I wouldn't see it again. Took 3 months but I did see it again and it's now one of my favorites. -

No one could talk into me into rewatching 'Irreversible'. A friend of mine I was watching it with starting shaking during the rape scene. I understand the point of the movie and I think it's clever but at the same time I think it's hostile towards the audience and ultimately unenlightening. The message is far from subtle and even rather stupid. "Time ruins everything" (or something like that) it declares, stating the message blatantly for those who might have missed it. This is the equivalent of saying beep the world'. Sorry to rant but I really disliked that movie.
'Salo' also scarred me but I don't feel that it is hostile towards the audience. Rather I think it's a very sincere expression of frustration with mankind's capacity for evil and the commodification of the human body. It's a tough one to recommend but it certainly leaves an impact. -
