I watched The Ring a dozen times. It's a very slick and atmospheric film. I'm talking about the remake, which was great. I don't like japanese horror, somehow it's not scary at all.

Ooh, I love making lists!!! Ones that I don't think have been mentioned yet:
- Half Nelson
- Swimming Pool
- Millions
- Hard Candy
- Where the Day Takes You
And I'd agree with those who mentioned: Mysterious Skin (this would be number one on my list), Secretary, The Ring, City of God, and Y Tu Mama Tambien

Requiem for a Dream
Mysterious Skin
Atonement
Y Tu Mama Tambien

I would maybe count Irreversible, but that movie more or less disturbed me, with these I felt compelled to talk about them.

Thanks for mentioning "Hard Candy." I've never been so uncomfortable watching a movie. God, it was horrible, but in a good(ish). I'll never watch it again
but I can't stop thinking about it. INTENSE:

Me too, patricialeat! The whole time I watched "Hard Candy," I thought, please please just let this be over soon. The acting was incredible but I felt physically ill afterwards. And it sort of makes you claustrophobic since the majority of the movie takes place in one location.
