The main issue you were arguing against was that Donald Trump never said that American soldiers were losers.
I said that everyone says that he did. You said that one person says that he didn't.
Well one person isn't enough to prove that Trump did not make the statement especially when everyone else says that he did that it is like, common knowledge at this point. -

Correct and I still stand by that that the only proof that he didn't want to visit the cemetery because the dead there were losers is from 2 anonymous sources quoted in the Atlantic. Everyone else there that day denied it, nobody could confirm it. Mark Kelly made mention of something completely different with no context that you guys keep bringing up, the statement we were arguing is nonsense.

In 2020 Jeffery Goldberg reported in an article for The Atlantic that Trump disparaged killed soldiers when cancelling a trip toto the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, in France, in 2018.
The article read:
"In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.
In 2023, General John Kelley confirmed the statements on the record to CNN's Jake Tapper, a debate moderator who did not challenge Trump on the denial. -

Literally everyone who was there denied it, even John Bolton, who hates Trump, denied it. Kelly had said Trump has disparaged veterans like McCain, and he had referred to veterans as feeling like suckers because of how the country had treated them, so you need to include context, but that fake story from the Atlantic about his saying he wouldn't visit the graves of fallen soldiers because they were suckers and losers is nonsense. Everyone who was there denied it.

I just looked it up. Bolton didn't hear it but he didn't say it didn't happen and he was accepting it was possible it happened. Trump's own chief of staff said it happened and it lines up with the other equally despicable remarks Trump made about soldiers so you'd have to be stupid to believe he didn't say it. Even you know he said the other things.

A senior Defense Department official with firsthand knowledge of events and a senior U.S. Marine Corps officer who was told about Trump’s comments confirmed some of the remarks to The Associated Press, including the 2018 cemetery comments.
The defense officials said Trump made the comments as he begged off visiting the cemetery outside Paris during a meeting following his presidential daily briefing on the morning of Nov. 10, 2018.
Staffers from the National Security Council and the Secret Service told Trump that rainy weather made helicopter travel to the cemetery risky, but they could drive there. Trump responded by saying he didn’t want to visit the cemetery because it was “filled with losers,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss it publicly.
The White House blamed the canceled visit on poor weather at the time.

So what? Trump has been very vocal for a long time about how much of a mistake it was going in Irag and Afghanistan and that we're getting soldiers killed for nothing.
