There is an obvious meaning to "some people never change." Unlike Hardenberg, who changed from liberal to conservative over the years, the three leads vow not to do so.
SPOILER
The extended ending shows the three leads on a yacht with some sort of ID document containing Hardenberg's photo. This could imply two things. One, they stole Hardenberg's yacht or two, Hardenberg actually gave it to them. If he did give it to them, then it is possible that "some people never change" is referring to him, meaning he is still liberal at heart. -

Their whole values were IMO totally screwed up.
According to whose values???
Not everyone believes like you, can you be less egocentric and narrow minded. Not everyone sees the world through your point of view.
They were totally anti-democratic for a start
Let me guess, you believe you live in a democracy?? My god, thats funny!! -

You call him egocentric and narrow-minded, and yet here you are defending characters who have nothing in their lives except to harass people and violate their privacy and personal security to spread a beep self-righteous Marxist world view.
It's okay for Leftist extremists to invade people's privacy and screw with the lives of others when they do it in the name of some backwards, self-defeating idealism, but if the shoe was on the other foot and, say, the government had broken into their homes to leave threatening messages, steal/vandalize and set up surveillance you better believe they'd be the first to cry about social injustice and violations of their rights.
You're just as much a braindead hypocritical sheep as the characters and authors of this godawful piece.
Let me guess, you believe you live in a democracy?? My god, thats funny!!

And let me guess, YOUR idea of a proper democracy is something representing Mob Rule, right? -

This doesn't get as clear in the final cut, but on the DVD there's quite a few deleted scenes of Peter flirting with girls. It's sort of implied that he might not exactly be the most faithful boyfriend..
Also, I don't see how what Jule did makes her a whore. She didn't just sleep with random guys, she fell in love. -

That's why I love this movie so much. Because the three "protagonists", so to speak, are very, very flawed people. They are attempting to be martyrs, but their own ideology is not perfect. They haven't got everything figured out. They're just attempting to live with a philosophy that is extremely difficult to follow through with. That's what makes these characters people, and makes this movie so relevant.
