When don't spoil it for him!
I've not checked the press today yet, but I'd imagine it's all over them with top class reviews and people saying how they are now the most Doctor Who'd Doctor Who fans possible!
I had a chat with a stranger at the pub last night and he's storing them all up to watch in one big sit down session.
He got as far as Boom! and then stopped so he could get them all in one go.
It was hard talking to a guy who was a massive fan but wasn't up to date with the show on purpose (But he still knew little things that the press would drop like Sootick and stuff). He asked some difficult questions and then queried me on the answers. Proper Who head he was
What was your favourite bit Ricky?

My favourite bit was ALL OF IT!!!!!! 😁💄💄 Though I especially liked it when they took Sue Tech for walkies through the time vortex.
        🐕
It’s interesting about the man in the pub. Bobby tells me that there is a real buzz in the air again about Doctor Who and it is now the world’s most beloved show. 😊

Well the man in the pub was a massive fan Ricky and he was saving all the episodes after Boom! to watch all in one go
It was weird because he knew what the stories in the paper about the show were and he had a little knowledge of YouTubers and their thoughts but he hasn't yet seen it himself and so talking about it was kind of awkward
SooTick going for walkies was cool but I'm still curious as to how The Doctor would know that it would repair everything. If he'd nipped back and got Rory and Amy I could understand that everything was fixed but it was just stuff connected to that episode.
Anyways, it was awesome and I'm glad you liked it

I find it very hard indeed to believe that man in the pub was a proper fan, Siggy. A proper fan wouldn’t be able to wait as soon as an episode drops and would want to gobble it up right away! 😁
What was it which got the two of you discussing Who? Is it the only thing currently on everybody’s lips? 👄 Bobby says that it is. 🙂

Well the story gets weirder Ricky. The man was up from London to attend a funeral and was out with the grieving mother and their friends. My t-shirt caught his eye and that is why the conversation started.
Not wanting to dwell on a recently dead son I allowed for it to go on for longer than I would normally. He had all sorts of theories about lost film cans and private collectors - much more than my humble knowledge
It could be that lots of people across the country are talking about it Ricky but I can only account for one incident on one particular Friday and so it could also be a rare thing

Yes Bobby told me about your t shirt. It says ‘Don’t breathe, don’t think, don’t feel, forget’ and it is all made into the shape of a white TARDIS, the words I mean. 🙂 It sounds awesome, I’ve told Bobby that I’d like one of my own for Christmas. 😊
I never seem to get into Who related conversations when I’m out and about so you’re very lucky. Bobby says that people are absolutely buzzing off the finale and the word on all lips is that Doctor Who is back and bigger than ever before…and doesn’t that make me feel good. 😊

It's "Don't blink, don't breath, don't think, forget" Ricky, all in capital letters.
I'll try and find it for you…
Sort of this (Only a darker blue and a bigger image)
In fact exactly that, only a darker blue and bigger image
Yeah, discussing Doctor Who at the pub with strangers isn't something which has happened a lot with me Ricky but it has happened a few times over the years.
I was once in a pub right next to Victoria Station in London and a bunch of guys all came in dressed as various Doctors. It was pretty sweet but I think we had three David Tennants and 2 Matt Smiths which is one Tennant too few and one Smith too many going by today's standards.
Another time, pre-2005, I got into a lengthy debate over who the best companion was with a guy who was studying history at university. That muddle of K-9 over Adric was forever put to rest to my mind once Amy came along but sadly I've not met that chap since
There's been a few other occasions but they are incredibly rare and always enjoyable
Isn't there anyone in Bobby's amateur dramatics group into Doctor Who? I know it's not the same as a casual pub conversation but am drams do tend to have an opinion on such things

I’ll show Bobby the link to that and tell him that is what I want him to get me for Christmas. 😊
Well from my memories of Bobby’s theatre group….only the ensemble talk to him you see and they’re all only really into football. The main cast such as Melvin Wood who plays Egor and Ryan Kemp who plays Frankenstein Jr love Who, but they never seem to trouble themselves with talking to the ensemble…
Perhaps when Bobby and I take another holiday to Blackpool next month, we may come across a few Whoovers there. Blackpool is one of Doctor Who’s spiritual homes what with the much loved exhibitions from the past (of which there have been two), plus Clara was from there and you had Colin Baker’s immortal line ‘how about Blackpool’ which was cut from broadcast because the show was put on hiatus. 🙂
See I am BURSTING with Who knowledge and dearly wish to share it with others!! 😊

Well perhaps you could stand in for Bobby during one of the rehearsals Ricky
Maybe crack a gag related to both Capaldo and Olivia Coleman being Oscar winners to whet their appetites for ambition
Really flex into it if they are interested with Daniel Kaluuya, Chris Overton and Jim Broadbent winning them too
Ultra-flex into it with John Hurt, Carrey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield all having been nominated for Oscars.
Finishing move with namedropping Pauline Collins, Sophie Okonedo and Richard E. Grant (Reg) also having been nominated.
With both Jim Broadbent and Reg in there it opens to door to what is canon and what isn't necessarily (Which harks back to Chris Overton).
Having stunned them with your knowledge of Doctor Who actors who have all been recognised as brilliant within their respective artistic fields you could bring it back a bit to the cast of Inside No. 9 and The League of Gentleman. Maybe stick a landing with the cast of Spaced and bow out to be talked about with wonder by both Melvin and Ryan
After that they'll contact Bobby and want to be invited to Blackpool and maybe even meet Sue Pollard. You'll have worked the room nicely and they'll be thinking that maybe you could get them on House of Games or Countdown for Cats
You don't know until you try Ricky

20 minutes ago that would have all sounded like a great idea and I would have been bang up for it.
But I’ve just watched Tharries’s review.
It’s left me with a very deflated feeling. Why is the number one Whoover of all time not right there with the rest of us loving and being on a high over this finale?
Why is there always that one stick in the mud who has to spoil it for all?!!
I bet that he wanted it to be all action none stop and thought that remarkably touching scene with the woman and dead baby was ‘too long’ and ‘boring’.
He wanted Sue Tech to have done something…Does he not get that Sue Tech had been planning all of this for 50 years?!! He was playing the LONG GAME!!!
I’m going to leave a nasty message on his video. 🥊

I'm sure he was just overwhelmed with it all Ricky
Give him a couple of days to calm down and reflect on it and he'll be fine no doubt.
He was as excited as you were and when expectations are so high it's easy to be let down.
He really liked the special FX and said they were almost as good as Marvel and Star Wars
Both of those brands are doing fantastic under Disney and so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about

Yes you’re right. Disney knows what they are doing and so does Russell, who has been doing Doctor Who now for a long number of years. The show will be fine and it has never been more loved than it is right now as we both know…so why does Tharries need to dampen our moods like that
There is always one naysaying voice with that bizarre need to be so contrary.
Anyway I have left a nasty comment on his video…but not TOO nasty as I imagine that he’ll be getting called all sorts in the comment section by Whoovers. I didn’t read any of the comments but I’m betting it’s very brutal. 😬

He also seems to be quite happy that Doctor Who is scoring well with the under 35 demographic and I have no idea why, it’s the under 12’s demographic that they should be chasing!

Yeah that isn’t going to work, Siggy. In times past Bobby hasn’t felt bothered about attending rehearsals that day and has sent me there in his stead. He’s gone back there the next week and the rest of the ensemble (the main cast won’t notice one way or the other 🙄) have all asked him where he was the previous week and was he not feeling very well.
Same with the driving lessons. Bobby doesn’t feel like doing his lesson some mornings, sends me, I sit in the car and his instructor is still honking his horn with an anguished face with tears in his eyes…like I’m not even there!!

                                      That's awful Ricky!
But how did your manage to go out to those charity shops and bring things back when Bobby was talking to me online if you have issues materialising with the rehearsals and the driving instructor?
