Has anyone here seen The Nightmare Man (1981)??? It has Douglas Camfield as the director and Robert Holmes as a Writer. I wanted to know if anyone likes it???

It's fairly good, if a bit over-earnest in places. But yes it's a satisfying watch.

Yes I haves seen it enjoyed it a lot, a few years back they released it on DVD which I snapped up.

Yes, got it on DVD after seeing it advertised online when it was first released on the format a few years back. I'd never heard of it before but was drawn in what with it being adapted by 'Who stalwart Bob Holmes.
All in all it's pretty good really. There's not much in the way of
action
(just in case anyone reads the premise and assumes it's a 'thrill a minute'!) but Holmes' suspenseful script builds the tension well and I suppose it's moderately scary at times. It even boasts Reg Hollis from The Bill (well the actor who portrayed him at least) no less!
On a more negative note though the submarine 'prop' doesn't remotely convince as a viable, sea-worthy advanced vehicle it must be said but that's a minor gripe and the general atmosphere, cast, acting et al are all generally decent.
Overall recommended but it's no classic. -
