I love both, but I rewatch Weeks more often.

Weeks is better. Sequels are usually better than the original. same with technology, video games etc. newest ipad and newest Super Mario game are far better than original. people think its immature to like Sequels so they immediately hate them.

Bad comparison, in no way should you ever compare improving technology to sequels (ask Lucas about all his added BS, Han shot first!).
Besides the hate people had for sequels is eclipsed by their hate for remakes.

not all sequels are better but usually they are. some remakes are okay. i like the Star Wars special editions way more than originals but agree Han shot first

              Me.
Days although gripping throughout, has too many silliness scenes, starting with the first!! see my review for some of the others.

I saw both in theaters. 28 days was great. 28 weeks was awesome. The conflict in Renners character as a sniper, just given orders to kill innocents after the infection broke out was grueling. I loved 28 weeks and have seen it dozens of times. What I like about 28 days is how threatening the infected were.

Agreed, Days was an 8 and Weeks a 9.
Great start to Days, but then it lurches into the guy-wakes-up-in-a-hospital-confused scene, straight from Day of the Triffids, and I always held that against it.
Yes, it got better from there, but I liked that they spent more money on Weeks and it showed. Bigger story.

Weeks has a terrible script and Zero menace. After the opening scene it feels like a TV Movie.

I think both films are equally excellent. I totally dig the small intimate scale of the original while the second one impresses with its take-no-prisoners brutal approach to the harsh subject matter.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
