Spoken like a true racist. Making sweeping generalisations about the behaviour of a race is the definition of racist. It would be refreshing to discover that you actually had the intelligence to know that and own up to it instead of making cowardly statements in the guise of being a decent person.

      1. Every immigrant I've encountered speaks more than 1 language. That is their mother tongue AND English. Plenty of so-called English people I've encountered can barely speak and spell their own language. They're usually the ones who complain the most about immigrants not speaking the language!
      2. Most immigrants work for a living and help sustain the infrastructure of the country they settle in. You will see them in the transport, retail, health and education industries if you open your eyes.
      3. As for those who are not working, anyone with common sense knows they're not living the life of riley. Is there some reason you think benefit cheques are HUGE? If you REALLY believed that, you'd quit your job (if you even have one) and 'live it up' on the dole.
Everyone knows you get more money working than you would on benefits. Everyone with intelligence that is.
People like you are sad. Making up stories or being stupid enough to believe what uneducated hate-mongers have to say.
Do all Norwegians STAY in the country of their birth or do some of them venture out into the world and settle in other countries? By YOUR OWN definition, that makes them worthy of being disliked.
And just so you know, the largest number of immigrants are white people who have settled all over the world. Guess what? Most of them don't speak the language of the country they settle in while taking full advantage of all that country has to offer.

Consider the fact that immigrants DO face employment discrimination in nearly every developed country. Even if you are a second generation citizen, having a foreign name can have a negative impact on employability and rate in which one can secure a job. Secondly, in many countries (the US included) some forms of government work are off-limits to people who are not citizens or long-term residents. If you are still working through the process of becoming a documented citizen, becoming educated and learning the language, you obviously won't be qualified for a lot of jobs-even if you were well educated in your country of origin.
The reality is it's not easy for anybody to find work but it is even more difficult when you are transitioning in a new country. Most people WANT to learn the language and cultural norms of the country they adopt and the cultural isolation isn't always voluntary. Even in "tolerant" Norway, Norwegian people generally keep a distance from immigrant communities. I'm not totally blaming them for that, but that adds to the difficulty foreign people have in assimilating or integrating into new societies. To say otherwise would be disingenuous

Norwegians have to put forth the effort of helping immigrants assimilate.
It's not enough to permit entry and not reach out. Of course they will
clan up, but aren't you doing the same? I understand it's difficult,
uncomfortable & for many unwanted. However, this was a decision of your
government & imagine how it feels to for them to be placed in a completely
different culture. Reach out and embrace, as you would want/need
                  if the roles were reversed.
Norwegians are amongst some of the kindest people I have ever met & along
with Swedes., their culture is beautiful, in my experience. I'm neither a country man
or an immigrant, so my view is surely skewed.
Understandably immigrants are a base threat to ones way of life,
I get that, but creating hostility within your own borders.. via
exclusion isn't a wise move either.

If I was in a different country and I wanted something, I would reach out. I wouldn't expect someone to accommodate me. If an immigrant reaches out to me, I won't turn them away -depending on what they want of course- but I won't seek out immigrants and reach out, whatever that means. You also have to realize that with the kind of social system we have, that economically speaking, immigration is terrible. If we weren't a welfare state, I wouldn't really care that much about immigration at all, as long as they weren't violent, or actively opposing assimilation. And you're right. The unknown does make people uncomfortable, and immigrants are unknown. Norwegians are private people. The only way you're going to fix that problems is with government mandated immigrant hours or something, which sounds like an Orwellain nightmare.

alexander, I get it. It's difficult for all involved. By reaching out I meant
(within in reason) because you don't know who's really who amongst your own,
never mind those from another culture & mindset.
I guess it's akin to being a house guest. It's up to the host to set the tone.
Immigrants are more than likely suffering from some form of PTSD, what, having
to cut and run from their country and be dropped into another one, that
in this case is almost polar opposite. Language, religion, lifestyle, etc.
                      it's a lot.
It's also a huge adjustment for the host country, but at the end of the day
it is their resources that will need to sustain them until they become
more ensconced in the their new environs. The last thing anyone should
settle for is tolerance which is a blight to the actual humanitarian gesture.
By tolerance I mean, not truly making the effort, people sense that, that's
                      not going to work.
It's hard though, I do agreeeasier said than done, but not impossible.

Milky only had an opportunity because he was with the boys he was trying to recruit. If he treated him like a different person then none of them would have stayed with him.
Even if Milky had decided to join them, Combo would have ending up beating him either way.
