        You're a joke.
It should be closer to a 2/10.

7,5-8 sounds more right for me. I gave it an 8.
I want to play a game.

It was a enjoyable thriller, its a entertainers film from start to finish, a few laughs, a few shocks, good acting.
Its different to your typical thriller that takes itself seriously and youve seen it all before.

The beginning of the movie sets up the whole thing for failure. One crash would definitely have been enough for a sad moment, two made it hilarious. Laughable "acting", the "suspense" was short lived and unimpressive and took WAY to long to get to while the whole teen spying/pathetic "love story" played out. Fine choice of bodies for the neighborhood girl though I must say - body can get a 7, movie gets a 4.5.

You're giving that body a 7? Damn, you must be pretty picky. I wanna see a body that earns an 8 or 9 from you.
Why don't you just make ten louder?
                              .These go to eleven.

ive only walked out of a theater on 2 occasions. the first time i was seeing "are we done yet?" with ice cube, for free, and walked out around a 1/2 hour in. i walked out of this movie maybe an hour into the film? the plot felt like it was trudging along and the acting was something id expect in a kids movie everyone has their own opinion, of course, if you thought it was a good flick, awesome. i just couldnt sit through this one. 4/10
p.s. ive seen "rear window" and i enjoyed it, better acting, better script
good spirits be near, bad spirits at bay

First and foremost as mentioned several times IT WAS Entertaining.
So many of negative remarks all over IMDB are personal NOT general as the IMDB rating offers.
The movie was MORE a 'Coming of Age flic" than a remake of Rear Window. They used a general similar situation to do so many other things. (Oops that's exactly what the courts decided too). If you NEED to go to the classic Hitchcock film, compare the quality of acting.
Roemer was a more powerful character than Grace Kelly
David Morse's role was far more developed and memorable than Raymond Burr
Aaron Yoo was much more engaging than say Thelma Ritter, She was a name back thendoing a walk through.
Shia's acting called for a big range and is pivotal. Stewart's portrayal was secondary to the plot
I still love some Jimmy Stewart but the reason the current folks could do well is they had more expanded and developed roles (and abilities) (if comparing stories) Don't ya See. Its NOT Rear Window.
Sorry to those who are stuck on an old movie.who couldn't find their own experience or an important social commentary on suburban life and all the rest of the Yadda Yadda. They would hate "Risky Business" and musicals too. It's the movies folksescapism, fun, ENTERTAINMENT. It worked big time in Disturbia. The worst thing about this big money earner Imhowas the title.
Recommendation for deep thinking critics. Rent those "American Beauty" and "The Hours" type flics and watch those over and over if you want 9.5 "significance".. in 4.5 movies.

I gave it a 10 because it's in my "Most Viewed Movies" group. Back in 2008 I must have watched it a dozen times the first couple of months, and I still watch it every now and then. If that's not enough to get a good rating, I don't know what is.
This is mostly the ratings fault rather than the movie's fault, because I can't specify why I rated it the way I did.
There's a difference in a good movie and a good script, whether it's thought provoking or just enjoyable to watch, good acting or actors you just tend to like.
So, depending on what you read in the scale 1-10 when rating a movie, this time it's because I can't seem to get tired of it, and that's a 10 to me.
                                        Just my thoughts
                                        Zalk

This is my favourite film of all time. Why? Not because its a "massively suspenseful thriller", because we all know its not. Its my fav film just because of the teen Shia plays in this, he plays it so well. The character "kale" is like an idol to me, I can relate to the character so much. I love it when I can relate to films, and the first half for me just seems like a perfect teen life, minus the house arrest and father dying.
