Avengers is why they invented the term INSTANT CLASSIC

Avengers was a TRUE genuine motion picture event. There are so many characters, moving parts and expectations involved in The Avengers that the usual, succinct review system no longer applies. Everyone loved it for a reason. Those that pretend they don't are still the haters from other franchises that got hurt bad by Avengers. We need to look at and judge each aspect of the film in detail to explain why the film works as well as it works and, again, what made this the first genuine motion picture event that EVERYONE loved.

Maybe Days of Future Past or the next Star Wars can match it but I think Avengers Age of Ultron will be the next time we can say this again.

I wonder if the sequels will get the backlash they deserve?

Agreed. The Avengers is one of the few films to come along lately with rewatchability.. all of phase 1 is, but Avengers by far is the gem in that crown.
Thanks to Batman vs. Superman, the "S" on Supermeh's chest now stands for Sidekick -

YOu must be kidding.
No, honestly, there is no way an actual grown-up could actually say what you did, and be serious.
I mean, heck, Star wars itself was nothing to be proud of, but THIS - no, just no, in every universe, and form of living.
Ehhh why is Stars Wars nothing to be proud of?
