Agreed. The Avengers is one of the few films to come along lately with rewatchability.. all of phase 1 is, but Avengers by far is the gem in that crown.
Thanks to Batman vs. Superman, the "S" on Supermeh's chest now stands for Sidekick -

YOu must be kidding.
No, honestly, there is no way an actual grown-up could actually say what you did, and be serious.
I mean, heck, Star wars itself was nothing to be proud of, but THIS - no, just no, in every universe, and form of living.
Ehhh why is Stars Wars nothing to be proud of? -

It's so good to see Marvel's The Avengers and the term INSTANT CLASSIC is forever linked when describing this amazing movie.
I don't remember the last film that instantly registered this much this fast and stayed this talked about even over a year later. The other top box office champs did the slow burn and grew on people. It's well noted that Avatar was simply a gimmick FX film that everyone had to see but most agree it's a bad film and was terribly written.
Reading these boards over the past year, I see a lot of comparisons to Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark and that seems to be right on the mark looking back. Most everyone loves Avengers no matter age or gender. That's also a very tough thing to pull off considering the genre and subject matter.
Admit it everyone, Avengers is an outstanding film on every level and truly worthy to be called an instant classic.
You claim it's a classic after 2 years of release. Then you claim that Avatar was simply a gimmick. Ok, well, let's see how many times The Avengers is brought up in 10 years
without
mentioning box office. As for Avatar, where is it well noted that people hated it? It's got a good score on IMDB, Rottentotamoes, and Metacritic.
I'm not saying that these are the bible in terms of a movies quality but I also would't say, like you did so randomly without anything to back it up with, that everyone loved Avatar (like you are saying about Avengers).
If you do want to bring to box office into consideration, you are aware that even though The Avengers made the most all time on opening weekend it says a lot in terms of what people wanted to pay for repeat viewing that it made well over $1 billion more than the Avengers if you think Avatar won't be thought of as a classic as well then you must remove your rose coloured Avengers glasses. -

He might have went overboard. But I would hardly call it garbage. This is a simple popcorn film made to entertain. On that level it works. It's not suppose to be the next Citizen Kane. Jesus. If this boring garbage why the hell did you give it a 6.
