Wait so its not possible to be alive after getting shot in the head? Tell that to the woman from Arizona that got shot in the head and is..omg ALIVE..She was even talking at the scene too. So to say its not possible to be alive is ridiculous.

I just finished watching the movie and I thought that it wasn't the police officer but rather the kid who got the scissors to the head. After she did that to him, he removed it and fell to the ground. I don't think he was dead but rather just brain damaged from it which would explain why he acted the way he did after turning the lights on. He most likely assumed she was the the other woman so he instinctively attacked her. Personally, I didn't really enjoy the scene as I thought it was just too far out in terms of realism but I understand why it was there.

Finally, someone who understood what happened. IT WASN'T THE COP, IT WAS THE KID!!!!!! Disoriented after scissors to the head, the last thing on his mind before getting stabbed was turning the electricity on. This is what's on his mind when he comes to. I think turning the lights on gives him a zap of some kind and gets the panda eyes as a result.
            NO ZOMBIES.
She's the one that is confused, calling him "officer" once or twice.
            "Obviously you're not a golfer."

Lmao what? Dude watch the scene again, it's the cop. How did you confuse his face, his clothes, his haircut, the fact that he has a police baton on his belt AND the fact that his brain injury isn't centered and isn't a hole like a scissor would do?

WOW. good stuff. (D) was my favorite of your explanations and its personally exactly how i felt at the time. we thought at the moment Sarah was going to persevere. boy were we wrong.

Was it the cop or the perp?
I thought it was the perp. After he is impaled, they linger on his face, leading me to believe he would come back.
And it is a plotline to give the villian the upper hand (and maybe they had some blood left over).

It was definitely the cop. The perp was middle-eastern and had scissors to his head.

He attacked Sarah because, in his state of mind, he thought she was La Femme.
As for why it happenedit was probably a deus ex machina to get the film to end with La Femme performing the caesarian section on Sarah.

thats correct. It was a set up.
But it was still fing cool when zombie cop (brain fried and blind) turned the lights back on.

I really hate that scene. Until that moment the movie worked as a very good piece of gore with a "realistic" approach thanx to the inclusion of racial riots as a backdrop for the film. But then the "zombie" appears and everything becomes a mess.
Why a "zombie" scene was suddenly included? I have no idea. I just know that it doesn't works. That scene feels taken from a completely different movie.

It wasn't a zombie. The guy was brain damaged from being shot in close-range with a riot gun.

Zombie scene was included as a tribute to Sam Raimi. Probably the authors were big fans of his.

Figured That La Femme chick, if she was the evil one? Never caught up with the names Anyways, she had the shock gun, which I figured didn't kill, only harmed (thought it was a tazer at first, but I've reconsidered.) Anyway, the cop turns to face the shock gun as she puts it to the side of his skull, and then she shoots, his eyes facing the gun.
My understanding is he was blinded, and was still trying to protect the pregno'lady, but ended up beating her up as to put insult to injury. As she killed her mom, typical horrorstuff innit.
I might be wrong though since he flicked on the power 'fore his craze.
He might've been Ben Affleck though, acting all daredevil

I also thought he was blinded and probably mad with rage at the one who did this to him, so he lashed out when he heard a voice near him, thinking it was her.
On second thought though how could he switch the lights back on blinded, when before it took him forever to fumble with the switches and he didn't manage to do it anyway?
The film doesn't make much sense anyway though so whatever. ^^
