Jon Snow's sword fighting ability

And I do like how the show demonstrated that great swordsmanship isn't everything.
As for Jon, we might have a better idea of his overall ability if he'd ever entered the kind of big tournaments where he could have fought against Jamie, Brienne, Oberyn, the Mountain and Loras, or the other famous fighters of the age. Instead, he joined the NW and did some actual fighting.

Jon tends to underestimate himself.
Jon Snow also seems to have this Incredible Hulk power of getting increased strength when he is enraged, happens several times in the book and on the show. Most of the time (especially against his brother) I'm sure he's held back a little. -

I think he could put up a pretty good fight against these 3 and maybe even impress them but could he beat the hound: no. brienne: I think it would be pretty even with brienne barely winning. Bronn: no, but either way he'd be impressed.

I rewatched that fight between The Hound and Brienne. Damn was it cringeworthy. Although not as cringeworthy as Jorah, Bronn, Jaime or Sand Snakes fighting. No GOT actor but Kit can actually sell themselves as swordsmen. Pedro and Luke Roberts were using stunt doubles. Kit does his own stunts, while some others can't even ride off on a horse on their own.
Back to the topic, Bronn would lose, and both Brienne and The Hound are overrated. -

In the books, Quorin Halfhand was better than he. He let him win. When Jon got back, he practiced with someone who was better than him. He admitted Robb was better than him.
So, no. He's not the best.
Wait..What? -

Hard to say.
The result of killing each other could be much different by many reasons.
Emotion, Stamina, Skill, Luck, Weather, Surrounding(Arya defeated senior assassin apprentice in darkness), Experience, Weapon(Good weapon could destroy bad ones easily) etc. Jon is young and trained. But he is still lack of experience. Also his attack range is a little short because height. Brienne's range could be longer than him when they take the same weapon.
I think so far, Mountain is the best Powerful type fighter still alive(If you could call it "alive").
Bronn is the best Dexterous type warrior still alive.
Jon & Brienne are both well trained Knight type(Defend expert or comprehensive) warrior still alive so far.
Tormund, Hound, Daari, Grey Worm, the guys above mentioned stand on second line.
Jorah may stand after third line. He is old after all.
Arya's teacher is definitely the best assassin but not a fighter.
Too shame that good archers like Ramsey, Ygritte are all dead. The good one still alive whom I could recall is the one in brotherhood. And I couldn't even tell his name! -

Daario, Bronn, Brienne and Sandor would wipe the floor with Jon. The NK probably, too, now that Jon was so nice to warn him about Valyrian steel.
He's better as the delinquent recruits at the wall, though.

Be noted the vocabulary I used for Jon & Brienne. "well trained" but not "the best".
I gave them more credit only because they own Valyrian swords.
In case of Jon, sometimes you have to fight against him and deal the dire wolf at the meantime. Kind of cheat, make you feel you are fight a warrior/half druid.
