I have no doubt there will be an epic battle with the WWs and the Night King will get killed, somehow. Whether he's really the big bad is another story, but they're not going to waste the opportunity for great television they haven't so far, anyway, when they killed off Joffrey, Ramsay, Tywin, Roose, and on and on.

We've already discussed this.
It's going to be Brienne. She will probably make the Nigh's King look like a complete dork as she easily kills him with her Valyrian steel sword.
Probably after killing the ice dragon single handed.

We will be getting an epic air battle between Dany / Drogon and NK / Viserion. Dany will come out of the sun and Drogon will blast the opponents into ice cubes.

Maybe he won't be killed, and the great other one is not as evil as it seems.
The red god, a god that demands human blood, is not entirely goodas Ser Davos pointed out bitterly.
Maybe there will be a truce, like there had been a truce between the first men and the children: the lands North of the Wall for the White Walkers, the lands South of it for humans, giants and children.
No human is ever again allowed to set a foot on the lands North of the walland as we know the humans have already become a threaat to other species. The children, the giants, the direwolvesal are close to extinction.
Maybe the children and the giants are even allowed to stay behind the wall to be save from the humans and their never ending greed for more land and resources.
Do we know the actual agenda of the White Walkers?!
That's they're out for blood is certain, but they also had long-term deals with humans (=> Craster) adopted and transformed human new borns (which were otherwise left to die by their parent's hand). The Thenn hunt other humans and eat their flesh.
So far the White Walkers conducted a war based on quite brilliant tactics, but also with elaborated long-term strategies.
First they took some two dead bodies, located them close to Castle Black intended to be found and brought back behind the wall and within Castle Blackand I think killing the Lord Commander was not the primary object (rather a bonuse to create more havoc) but the actual intention was to lure the gros of the manpower of the Night Watch deep into their territory in order to launch a devastating attack, to simply wipe out the fighting force of the NW.
And I'd say we have to give them here the credit for a major victory.
But this attack on the NW was on a piece in a far larger war plan, and attacking and pushing the Wildings South, made them unite their force to launch a major attack against the now depleted Nightwatch was an other step in their path to their endgame.
But this one went awry due to Stannis involvement, but the White Walkers adapted quickly and stroke hard. Instead of using them, the Wildlings, indirectly to put their war efforts into motion, they harvested them at Hardhome - still flocked together by fear they had installed - and made them part of their war force.
In the meantime they also stroke successfully against the children and by now all the lands North of the Wall are under their control, hostile forces are hardly present anymore and without the children, one major factor that helped back then the humans to win the war, have gone - at least were were given this impression.
Last but not least the Night Watch has ceased to exist as a military force and Bran and his mark by the Night's King might be the next and final step to launch the actual war on the seven kingdoms.
In terms of discipline, tactics, strategy, determination but also patience, the White Walkers are far ahead of all parties that might dare to challenge them.
If Dany, Jon and Co. do mot improve their understanding of war tactics and strategies, they will have a hard time to defeat the Night's King and his army.
