Bush's minions are still out there lying about our reasons for going to war in Iraq while our troops, like Pvt Chance, are still over there dying for those lies.
Here is an exerpt from Bush's former press secretary, Ari Fleischer, appearing on Chris Matthews "Hardball" show on MSNBC this week and attempting to spread the same discredited lie;
Fleischer: After September 11th having been hit once how could we take a chance that Saddam might strike again? And thats the threat that has been removed and I think we are all safer with that threat removed.
Matthews: Im proud that we no longer have an administration that uses that kind of false argumentand the American people are too. -

It really irks me when someone who THINKS they know what they are talking about and then thinks it makes them a tough guy because they think they can justify it. MSNBC has nothing to do with this movie or its message. Go read a history book before you decide to try and post another heartfelt political message on this board.

Exactly! I often receive replies to my posts evidently meant for someone else. And when I kindly ask those persons to post their replies to the intended persons, so that those persons can actually get to read what's meant for their eyes, I get showered in abuse and insults! Almost like the little sarcastic note posted above here, just nastier.
The lack of logic displayed by persons who are also able to use a computer is, well, just not logical. -

give me a break
you know i hear this all the time WHY did we go there
because we thought they had WMD and were prepared to use them,turns out they probably didnt have any.. but you know what weather Saddam did or didnt have WMD is irrelevent.wanna know why???
because if he didnt have them there was no reason to refuse the weapon inspectors access,by refusing them he gave everyone the impression that he had them which gives you the reason for the war which with hindsight makes Saddam Hussein one of the biggest idiots to ever walk this Earth -

Nothing saddam said or did gives america a divine right to wage war on him, some of you americans are so stupid its funny. Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 in fact he was an arch enemy of osama bin laden, the only terror training camps bin laden had in iraq were in the northern part controlled by America and their kurdish friends.
Saddam said no to the inspectors to show his people he isnt a coward, standing up to the bullying by america and the UK. They knew he had no weapons of mass destruction because they never sold him any. Effing idiots. -

"Nothing saddam said or did gives america a divine right to wage war on him, some of you americans are so stupid its funny. Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 in fact he was an arch enemy of osama bin laden,"
REALLY? Didn't ONE of the guys who planned the FIRST World Trade Center bombing have 'fake' Iraqi Passport? Didn't he RUN to Iraq after the bombing? Didn't THIS guy, who came into the country with assistance of Iraq, hid out in Iraq after the bombing also part of AQ & was an associate of OBL? Kind of a funny way to be 'arch enemies'; NOT only that but Saddam ALSO provided monetary support for the suicide bombers of Hamas==ANOTHER ally organization of OBLYou MUST familiarize yourself with the old Klingon proverb: "the enemy of my enemy is my friend";
And then there's that little issue of being in State of low intensity war with Iraq thru the 1990sas for WMD, he made that sarin & mustard all by himselfand he used it tooSOME folks even say he managed to use some of it in 1991 in SMALL quantities.
So DO do your homework before before you 'spout', Honorable Mr. Galloway.

Just when I think that americans may not be that stupid and manipulated from the media, I see a movie like this, clearly an army propaganda (not entering the merit of the poor soldier that died), and listen to the comments about how righteous are the "peace and freedom keepers". My God, don't you see that all your war games are based strictely on financial and commercial purposes?
Sadam was a blood dictator? Mugabe and Dada were much worse! He - allegedly - had WMD? Kim Jong-il has them and rub them against your faces every chance he has! Why don't you just declare war on these wackos? Because they're not relevant, in financial and commercial ways.
America and most americans lives a redundant lie and are proud for it, as this movie shows in a totally unrealistic way. This kind of blind pride will be the ruin of the Empire, you'll see
And before anyone call's me a terrorist or criticise my english, I'm from Brazil, a completely neutral country, and this is not my first language. -

We in a low intensity shooting war with Mugabe? With Amin? As for NK, they're always in a state of perpetual national collapse.OF COURSE if YOU think something should be done about Kim, well feel free to suit up & gocrossing that minefield in the DMZ should make for an interesting experience.as for me, I feel that IF the NK have nukes & a delivery system, I will console myself with the irony that they can hit San Francisco

Army propaganda? That was very nice of the Army to develop propaganda for the US Marine Corps. Why are you politicizing a film that went to great lengths to be apolitical? If this movie had been about a soldier/Marine who dies in WWII, you wouldn't be making any comments about it, but because this Marine died in Oraq, it's propaganda.
Curious. How is it propaganda? Propaganda is media designed to manipulate people's opinions in favor of what an organization want to accomplish. How is this movie manipulating the way people are thinking about the war? Fact is, you can't come up with any ways that this movie is propaganda because it is not.
I'm not an actor. I just play one on TV.

NM, are you serious: "old Klingon proverb"? "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is found both in ancient Arabia and ancient China, and that theory has been used throughout history. I suggest you turn off the TV and pick up a history book - you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that most writers, including those of "Star Trek" and "300" get their inspiration - and famous proverbs and sayings - from history.

Personally, I think this movie could have been better directed. For people who were not born in USA, like myself, I feel the meaning of the movie was so much smaller compared to what I think USA-citizens might be feeling.
However I liked Kevin Bacon's role especially the part when they opened the coffin.
Hope this war ends soon, so that the future of your country (the young and brave soldiers) might really start to defend their own and serve you the way they (and you) deserve and not in the name of political/economical interests.
May they all return to their homes.

Saddam Hussein boasted to his would-be, potential foes in the Arab community (Iran) that he HAD Weapons of Mass Destruction to keep THEM at bay. After all, they knew he gassed his OWN people (the Kurds) before. Well, George Bush simply called his bluff! Saddam was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He couldn't reveal to his enemies in the region that he really DIDN'T have WMD's, because then he risked attack by them. Hussein gambled that the U.S. wouldn't invade his country. HE LOST!!! To my way of thinking, Saddam Hussein and his two sons, Uday and Qusay, WERE human Weapons of Mass Destruction, and the whole world is better off now that they're decomposing in the ground. The grandest sight I ever beheld was seeing Saddam standing on the scaffold, with the noose around his neck. WHOOSH!!! Where'd he go? To Hell, baby, to Hell!!!
