I think Jennifer Coolidge was funnier than both. But I think Lynch was a lot funnier than Mullally. Lydia just felt Forced and kind of annoying to me.

I thought Lydia was much better/funnier than Constance. And I'm a Jane Lynch fan. She just didn't seem right in this show to me and honestly as horrible as this sounds I couldn't tell at first whether she was supposed to be mentally challenged or just kind of stupid or what.
I love Lydia and the running joke where she thinks various people are celebs when they aren't or she thinks certain celebs are someone else (Guttenberg/Danson, etc). I enjoy how happy and silly she is all the time.

I am much more of a Megan Mullally than a Jane Lynch fan and I have to say, I preferred Constance. Lydia, to me, was just kind of cute but boring. Lynch can be grating/annoying at times but her character had funnier lines. Coolidge was great just like she wasin small doses.

This is one of the things I disagree most on with my friend who also loves this show. Overall, I think Megan Mullaly was funnier, both as a character and as an actress. All of her "my friend Peg" lines make me laugh embarrassingly hard.

I think there was kind of a running joke involving Lynch and the blonde actor, that they were both bad actors and looked alike and I missed their interactions in the second season. Mullaly is all eyeballs and eyebrows for comedy(wha-wha-what????) and thought Lynch was per unusual a favorite. Also a one-for-one switch for middle aged actresses afer the glee loss wasn't quite moving
