Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Triangle

This is not an explanation of Triangle. Rather, an observation of how diligent creativity often works and to what extent I interpret the gears that turn the wheel behind creation.
I rarely read reviews before watching a movie. Primarily, I use my instinct which helps me absorb a fresh and better impact without exterior influences that might sway my personal perception. In the case of Triangle I had no idea what the film consisted of, only something of a daunting narrative.
I honestly cant remember the number of films like this Ive watched. Of course having an atheistic background there are a lot of things I dont subscribe to, yet I often enjoy these tales only to see how they are played out. Starting with the atypical storm, I caught onto the usual anomaly factor often used as a gateway to propel an impending event. I thought to myself, Well, lets see where this goes?
Generally, writers of this genre, leave an open ending with a choice of possibilities. In this case they opted for a loop. With loops there is no beginning nor end, so in essence you have a story of a story, whereby it is possible to start at any given sequence then go back and play up to that point.
Writers also have complete power to do whatever they want. Actually many people are involved: adding, subtracting, inserting, suggesting, even to the level of knowingly creating errors to gain a desired effect. All of this can be seam-blended on the table or editing room. Like other films of this nature, I got the impression Triangle was another leave-it-to-the-audience type of movie. There are a lot interpretations which is good for a film and now that I have watched it, I really enjoy reading them!
Regardless of how a person views a film, it should be kept in mind its about entertainment. Thus, going back to the beginning, I offer these movies some slack. Theyre resourceful in the area of pretend. The,
    Oh, I see
. factor depends on the craftsmanship behind it. Triangle was fairly resourceful. Ive seen better and Ive seen worse. But the key ingredient on both sides of the screen, is imagination.
