i completely agree with youmy favourite is also "at worlds end"i think thats the movie that brought a serious version to this movie compared to 1 and 2 which are both jolly fun ridesplus its scipt is the most unpredictable which is the one suited for pirate movies, whoever understood the movie will agree with me

Definitely the first!
I just really didn't like the sequals. Not that they're badly made. But the storyline just didn't appeal to me like the first one did.
So i'm pretending it begins and ends with Curse of the Black Pearl..

Can't really say, what with not having seen the first three in years, but at the time of watching them I thought something along these lines.
Curse: Good.
Chest. Good.
End: Slow and weird.
Tides: Alright. -

i'd have to go with 3. i honestly think geoffrey rush outshone everyone else in the movie. the lack of him in dead man's chest is probably why it's my least favorite of the four, even though it is still quite good.

I like them all equally.

Curse of the Black Pearl, to me, came together better than the rest of the films in the series did. I also wasn't a huge fan of the side characters in any of them. I could just barely tolerate Will and Elizabeth, both being hit or miss (more miss than hit too).

In order from fave to least fave is;
P.O.T.C - Curse of The Black Pearl
P.O.T.C - Dead Man's Chest AND At Worlds End (They tie in as equally good for me)
P.O.T.C - On Stranger Tides.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed watching the 4th installment, but things just seemed off with it. I felt the first 3 were a complete story, like LOTR. They wrapped it up and that was that. The 4th one felt like an unnecessary but enjoyable add-on of a video game -

My favorite is probably Dead Man's Chest thanks to Davy Jones and especially the Kraken (which completely stole the show in my opinion and its absence hurt the third instalment a little), but I love all of these movies and its one of my most favorite franchises of all time (I actually much prefer this over LoTR).
I'm having a hard time waiting for Dead Men Tell No Tales, but if delaying it means it will be all that better, then I can take it. -

The first one is by far the best. Not only a fantastic pirate movie but also a fantastic movie in general. However, I find myself wanting to watch Dead Man's Chest a lot for the sheer entertaining fun of it. Had great ideas with Davey Jones but you don't really get to see him do anything but play the organ and dice. The Kraken does all the work for him which is fine because each Kraken attack is awesome, just would've liked to of seen Davey Jones be more dominant. In the third one they made him out to be an emotional roller coaster.
I thought Dead Man's Chest made Jack out to be more of a buffoon. The same goes for Davey Jones' crew. The setup of them was awesome. Then at the end on the island they're just running around chaotically yelling and getting owned by elizabeth. I don't think I saw one sophisticated swing of the sword by any of them. Again GREAT ideas for Dead Man's but not executed as well as the first which if done so I would place it over the first.
So for me I have to watch the first two in different mindsets. Dead Man's for shutting my brain off and getting entertained. Curse for keeping my brain on and allowing myself to get sucked in to that world without feeling cheated.
Chest also, I think, takes place on the water more so than the others which I enjoy.
The third one is just a mess and all over the place. By the time we get to the Maelstrom it's a little too late for me. Not to mention why didn't Davey Jones' crew just teleport over and surprise the Black Pearl? Also, while the fight between Davey and Jack was cool I thought they should've utilized Davey's teleportation on his own ship more with the fight. One moment he comes out of the mast then disappears then comes out of the floor. Then he's above him.
I would rank them 1,2,4,3. However, after having said all of that, I did buy them all and enjoy them all in one way or another, the first two especially.
