Oh, you mentioned the religiousness and that one came to mind. I think it was on Hulu here… It was about a mom abusing her kids. There are several on Netflix about the
Morons
Mormons being involved in some extremely ****ed up ****. Religion is pretty awful in general, but they deserve special mention simply for having as their sacred text the most poorly-written, incoherent and ****ing hilarious book I've ever read

No these were full on Christian types and I just cannot understand that mindset. It’s bizarre. But anyway that was more a side note and not part of the story (until the final episode).
What’s the Moron (I like that) one called? I don’t think I have seen it. I only started looking at what was on Disneyplus at the weekend but it includes Hulu stuff. -

Oh, it's definitely a bizarre mindset. Growing up, my parents wouldn't allow me to watch the Disney cartoon version of Hercules because it glorified "false gods."

(Luckily, they've mellowed
a lot
since then.)
But the Moron documentary I was thinking of is called Devil in the Family.

I watched the first two episodes earlier. The second goes in a direction I really wasn't expecting, but isn't completely out of the ordinary for Ryan Murphy. I'll get back to it again soon.
But yeah… it's been a while since I've watched it, but I definitely don't remember his American accent being anywhere near that obnoxious on Sons of Anarchy

His American accent in SOA was good imo but his voice is creeping me out in this lol I guess that's the point though. Ed was a freak.

the weird nazi flashbacks? I'm not digging them so I hope they stop. I'm on the third episode now. -

Tobe Hooper's monologue in episode 4: "I'm not making the movie this country wants. I'm making the movie it deserves!"
@Celestia Bloodshed- Can't fully recommend this yet, but… four episodes in Hitchcock, Tony Perkins and Tobe Hooper are as pivotal to the storyline as Gein himself and the actors are ****ing nailing it! If you can get past Charlie Hunnam's apparent vocal imitation of Yogi Bear

In the hands of someone like Michael Haneke, John McNaughton, or even Gaspar Noé, this could have easily been a harrowing, thought-provoking masterpiece. In the hands of sleaze maestro Ryan Murphy, however, I'm sure that it's just lurid, brainless, sensationalistic exploitation trash. One really cannot expect anything else from the guy who gave us puerile garbage like
Nip/Tuck
and
American Horror Story
.

Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
