I too was surprised how watchable this was! What's the problem?

Where did the 9% Rotten Tomatoes rating come from!? Sometimes it must get trendy for critics to jump on a bandwagon to pan a movie. Felt more like a 50-60%er
I was expecting a cocktail of tedium and corny jokes but it was well paced, didn't try to get cute, and I found myself engaged from start to finish. It wasn't perfect, but not worthy of the panning it received. I'd say it was comparable to Ant Man in terms of entertainment value.
By contrast, Batman v. Superman was slow, boring, had poorly conceived characters, and deserved even worse reviews than the bad reviews it got. -

Remember how Rotten Tomatoes works. Each critic gets an up or down vote. It doesn't have to mean that a 9 means that 91 percent of the critics hated it, just that they didn't like it. And there was a lot not to like. The characters had little to no chemistry, there was no middle act, and a truncated 3rd act with a forced ending. If you're a fan of the comic book, you'd hate what they did to the first family of Marvel. That's why we didn't like it.

No it didn't deserve better reviews. The film feels unfinished and it has by far the worst 3rd act that I've ever seen in a big budget Superhero movie. It's a terrible movie. And BvS got terrible reviews as well so your implication that it got off easy is silly.
