I cannot tell you how much I'm enjoying this! It's not often that someone as hopelessly outclassed as you are walks into my parlour. Do tell, how would you judge my literary or academic credentials, in the unlikely event of your being in a position to do so? Would you ask me challenging questions about texts you haven't read?

What are you doing in a parlour?
So, are you going to be explicit and claim you're a professor of English? It seems as though you're afraid to commit so you can pretend you're something else later when this all goes wrong for you. -

I haven't actually publicly claimed anything. My admirers have inferred my status. But I don't mind claiming to be a professor of English. How would someone like you, who makes a couple of errors in a paragraph, possibly disprove my claim? I am on tenterhooks! -

Still not explicit, I see.
I'll ask one last time, to see if you'll step out from behind the shield of ambiguity. Are you a professor of English? -

Of course I am! What a dolt you are to think otherwise! Do you think any ordinary mortal, unpossessed of an advanced degree, could have so pwned you over so many posts? -

That's an interesting and telling post, professor.
Not only are you brazenly lying or deluded about your profession, you're also deluded about how you've "performed" during our conversation. But best of all, you've made the hilarious mistake of admitting you found this a challenging confrontation, thus undermining your credentials as a professor of language and your claim to victory. -

Come on, dodo, cut to the chase! Are you going to expose me? So far all you've done is make feeble accusations, backed up by feebler logic. Where did I ever say it was challenging? I said I enjoyed it, which I did and do, because I enjoy pwning fools. -

You seem to have great difficulty reading between the lines. A strange weakness for an English professor.
Do you think any
ordinary mortal, unpossessed of an advanced degree, could have so pwned you
over so many posts?
It's a pity you didn't do as well as you claimed, because then your excitement at having felt like you'd excelled wouldn't be quite so embarrassing. -

Surely it's a matter of opinion?
I
clearly feel you've been pwned. You are desperately and unconvincingly claiming you haven't. Why would I be embarrassed at claiming victory? I feel positively happy. -

I'm sure the third grade class that you teach will be very impressed.

That's actually not a bad shout. He seems obsessed with grammar and sentence structure, which is very important at elementary level. Progress beyond high school and it's more about how those rules can, and should, be broken. -

He tries way too hard to come off as being intellectually impressive to an audience that is typically smarter than himself.

See, either of those would have been cutting and witty. What you have is a complete mess, and is a nice reflection of your usual thought processes. -

Your post is a nice reflection of your everlasting butthurt, yet entirely unnecessary.

That's hilarious for reasons you cannot possibly fathom!
Whatever that means.
I'm sure you're familiar with the old adage about those who can't do, teach third grade?

I don't think you fathom those reasons either. And I know exactly what that means. -

It's all in the tone. Again, strange that an English professor should lack such basic understanding of language. -

Very strange, Watson! Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. The game's afoot! -
