I understand Jesus was a true historical figure. Going back in time to question him wouldn't prove much. I suppose it's a case of whether or not you believe he is the Messiah he claims to be. Many people (such as the Romans) naturally believed him to be a liar.

Well… agree to disagree, but most historical evidence points to Jesus NOT being a historical figure.
Surely there might have been a delusional Rabbi running around Jerusalem at the time, claiming to be the son of god.
But the Jesus/Savior Myth is so close to MANY other similar myths, it more points to being just old folklore being retold and repackaged over and over. Finally turning into mass-accepted religious dogma, when Jesus / christianity was popularized by Constantine in the 300s.

I've always been of the understanding that Jesus christ himself did exist and that it's just a question of his word that's the true mystery. It's no lie that religion holds a certain power. I just placed him in the same category of Muhammed (who also claimed he could perform miracles)

Political correctness may not have existed but it's common knowledge that everybody in the 80's was a closeted queer. Now I'm not saying it's a decade you'd slip right into but you strike me as being as gay as Christmas.
