I've always been of the understanding that Jesus christ himself did exist and that it's just a question of his word that's the true mystery. It's no lie that religion holds a certain power. I just placed him in the same category of Muhammed (who also claimed he could perform miracles)

But I do agree his life tellings are massively cloaked in half truths, lies and misinterpreted events. The Bible itself wasn't written until at least 100 years after his death.
