Oh indeed. I am sure that is the case - every organization [also every group, race, nationality, religionetc, etc, etc] has good and bad apples.
This is simply human nature.
Still, the one difference in the Armed Services I feel is that even Armed Services goofballs may one day have to put their lives on the line.
Something most folks will never ever have to face.
In large part because folks like you are willing to do it for us.
This is what too many people really seem to forget.

Yes, I ultimately did find it irritating. And before anyone jumps me over that: I have worked on trauma teams, worked in multiple ER's, and worked with patients who were in hostage situations. Further, my father did three years of combat medicine in the Pacific, and my mother is herself a Navy veteran of WWII.
I think it is important to be human and reassuring to people, and there are ways to do that even while you are doing the crucial work of locating wounds, etc. I thought her tone was somewhat cold and condescending.
