Well thank the universe I am not an ex-con, adulterer or murderer! I can safely stay being an atheist and never have to become a christian because of a guilt trip. Sorry to say this but christianity is on its way out, simple example the three or so nightclubs across Europe I've been to that were old churches.
So you're saying that as an atheist I can't convince someone who believes in God(not that I would want to, you guys are the ones who are always knocking on the door asking if i need salvation) that he doesn't exist, because he so guilty about what he has done? The only reason he believes in god is so he has a convenient way of saying that he can be forgiven of it? That's weakness, to live with what you have done and not use an old book as an easy way out, that takes strength. By the way after he became a christian he started killing people? Thou shalt not murder and the movie is called 'Machine Gun' Preacher? i know you'll say he killed those soldiers to protect the orphans, but since when has it been alright for a christian to pick up a gun and start killing, even if it could make it easier to protect the children? Maybe if we look at all the bloody murder and battles over history that have been declared in the name of god and christianity we see that actually it is not unusual for christians to want to kill people as they have holy justification. As soon as someone believes they have justification for evil actions that is when real evil rears its ugly head. So i suppose i have answered my own question. -

But just to put things into perspective's. I love Science, its one of my favorite subjects. But again story's like in this movie here is the reason why atheists will never win, but at the same time believing in a higher power is not in anyway a reflection on one's belief in Science, those two are not exclusive from one another.
Edit: Also to put things into perspective, I am a Christian, not a Catholic, I don't agree with the Catholic church because they don't follow the bible. So some of the things you are mentioning have too do with the Catholic Church and not Christianity, Christianity and Catholiscm is not one in the same, you should check out the history on that, because its way too long for me too put here, but its pretty interesting. -

Give me a list of atheists and atheist societies that have murdered religious people for being religious. Stalin and Mao do not count - they had their own agenda. Just like Hitler didn't kill jews because he was christian. He was just evil and happened to be christian.
Christianity is responsible for the deaths of countless millions.- A quick list of some of those deaths:
Murdered THOUSANDS of ancient pagans for not converting to Christianity.
The Inquisition. Thousands of deaths, again.
Murdering hundreds of THOUSANDS for being "witches". Mostly women.
The Crusades. Millions of deaths.
Murdering heretics and atheists throughout history. Impossible to know just how many thousands/millions have died.
The list goes on and on. It gets even bigger if you include other religions.
Compare how powerful religion was 2 hundred years ago to how it is today. Religion has lost its grip on a lot of the world, and it will continue to in years to come. Science and truth will always claw their way from under the shrouds of ignorance that envelop our world thanks to religious ignorance. It wil prevail, and there's nothing you death-worshippers can do about it.

First of all, it's Salem, not Saleem. And Salem is just 1 town/city in America that it happened in. Now, if you wasn't so ignorant you would know that it was happening all over Europe too. Way more than 25 were killed, you fool.

The basic teachings of all major religion is the same, and a distressed man/woman can follow any one of them resulting into a "Deliverance"I fail to see why you're biased towards a particular one.
I'm an atheist ( In the sense I don't particularly follow the superficial rigorousness of any Religion whatsoever. I don't believe that praying in front of a crucifix, or inside a church, mosque or temple, uttering some per-defined words can bring me closer to the so called "God" ) - but I do believe in the strength and purity of one's inner mind and soulbut that's got nothing to do with "Religion" and is mostly based on self-realization.
